Many service procedures are easy with the right tool--and darned near impossible, without it.
Case in point: The Schwaben thin-walled deep-well spark plug socket is designed with the R55/R56/R57 MINI in mind. The narrow plug tube is not wide enough to accept common plug sockets, which can stick in place. Really stick.
The Schwaben thin-wall design fits easily in the plug hole. Its magnetic ring holds the plug safely during installation, then lets go when it should for fast socket retrieval.
