I am looking towards just replacing my panel filter with an aftermarket one. Has anyone actually done any Dyno runs on the replacement panel filters? Which are the options? which is the best? And last but not least, any supplier that can ship it over to Mexico? Thanks in advance.

(Have done the finest MINI driving a MINI could ever deserve. Twisty winding road in Mexico where there are no speed limits(The law says there are, but who cares down here)It was one turn after the other, squealing tires from left to right, no ASC turned on, only the foot to the pedal stability control factor, one of the most noble experiences ever. The car responds to every demand, even in the toughest curves. Playing with the throttle controls even better at cornering. Its not cornering, its art(will be needing new tires soon though) Well, just an off topic info.)

I assume he means the drop-in air filter. I've always been happy with K&N replacement filters but now I'm looking at full intakes for the cooper. Don't know what the part number is for it but I'd check out a K&N filter if you are just going to do the drop-in, I've noticed slight gains (not all that much but noticable) in all my other vehicles.

I dropped in a MINIMania cold air intake ... very nice and definitely worth the bit of change it cost. The sound alone of that supercharger winding up is some of the sweetest music. Everyone, and I mean everyone, who has taken a ride and or drive in the car is impressed (mostly with the car though)!

Yeah, I mean the drop in filter. I just bought the K&N replacement filter, and its true, you do feel a difference. I am pretty happy for such an inexpensive mod. My car does feel a lot perkier at low RPM's, I dont have to rev up the engine to get off the line in normal traffic driving(yes, I admit, sometimes I drive responsively here in MExico) The engine makes a slight increase in supercharger whine, and the exhaust has gotten a deeper note. The car feels all around less restrictive. I still havent pulled it to top speed. I have gotten up to 230 km/h(dont know that in miles, but somewhere around 130 something mph) This was with factory filter. I dont know if I can go faster. Well, cool, first mod down, many more to come. This filter is a way to keep the mini, and me happy for the next few months waiting for a solid kit to come into the market. Well, blessings!
