Front wheel bearing replacement/ upgrade

Has anyone replaced their front wheel bearings yet? Are there any options other than stock bearings?

Yes...but I cannot remember by who...give me some time. They pull the stock bearings apart and use synthetic grease instead of the standard fare. Stock bearings are about $135.00 each and if I remember the others are about $170.00 each.

Simple to install! Takes a little while, but bery easy work!

Just give a me a day or two and i'll rmember...

Thanks for the help MEB, have you been on track yet this year? I bet you got snow this week? We had a major wind storm here in the sunny south!

Thx, DJD

First three events canceled...good thing since the car isn't right But it will be soon.

Rain, snow, and track surface temps barely above freezing...not good for grip

Any news on this situation or any opinions on the aftermarket wheel bearings? I need to replace mine and would love to put in aftermarket ones if they will stand up to the job a bit better

RallyMINI:

Na...I guess wheel hubs are beyond most Mini folks. I can not find anyone who makes or refirbishes existing hubs with better bearings. I have found the best price for hubs at German Auto Parts -

http://www.germanautoparts.com/Mini/...ivetrain/242/1

Their OEM part was half the price of Mini Mania! Good Luck

Did you just end up putting those on your ride? I would love for something stronger...but that 120 is a good price

I really don't see any other option. Maybe some of the hardcore racers have a better solution?
