a little help please?

im not new to modding cars, but definately new to superchargers. just put on a mymini CAI kit and love the super charger whine! but somewhere between 1/4 throttle and 1/2 throttle there's this annoying high speed whistling. at first i thought it was just the sound of the throttle body taking in air, but im not so sure anymore. the tone of it can be manipulated by the amount of pedal given. checked my connection between the cone and hose going to the throttle body and still as connected as the day i installed it. any help here guys? and if this is something normal due to the supercharger im gonna feel really stupid ohh btw hasn't thrown any codes or done anything starnge...thanks!

Normal,

Most CAI, and for sure the open ones, make in my opinion a little too much noise. I have tried 2 that make the supercharger noise more tolerable, the JCW and the Dinan intakes.

its just really high pitched almost like something moving without lubricant. its before you can even hear the supercharger begin to 'whine". i mean i can definately hear its gasp for air when you get on it but like i said its somewhere in the middle of the throttle.

I'd suggest the M7 HDI box. It's a sealed box with an open filter element sticking out in the back. It's only open on 1 out of the 6 sides of the rectangular filter box. Easy install too :-).

Open filters make a lot of noise, a box helps more than you'd think.

When I first got my Alta CAI I thought the whistle was too loud. Now I am used to it and love the sounds.
