JCW Air Filter help needed.

I am trying to change out the filter, but I am having a problem removing the top of the airbox. Does anyone have a how-to, or a helpful suggestion?

Thanks.

After undoing the screws, you have to slide the boxtop toward the firewall hard enough to deform the plastic there in order to release the rear hooks.

Hello Goaljnky,

Thanks again for the warm welcome, you and your MININUTS friends rule, we had a great time with you guys at dinner.

Give us a call at the shop, if you still have problems with that JCW filter.

Good luck

Victor

It was a pleasure meeting you Victor. Now I have the next question. Is the hose clamp from the hose on the air box supposed to be reusable, does it need a special tool, or do I need a new clamp? I can't seem to get it to latch.

The clamp is reuseable. Take a pair of pliers in the extended notch position and grasp the left side and the right side of the open clamp and squeeze it together slowly and voila it snaps together.

Yes it does. Thank you. Can't believe there isn't a how-to out there, even if it is a 10 minute job. I guess the biggest mystery were the two clamps in the back. Go figure.

I found a how-to on here somewhere a while back, or at least a link to one. Getting that metal clamp back on took the longest out of everything. I hate to think about it.

If it's the same metal clamps that are on the regular stock intake, they can be fun. I found the best way to get them back on was to use some pliers and a small flathead screwdriver. Use the screwdriver to hold the clip up so it doesn't get snagged when clamping with the pliers.
