I emailed the GIAC dealer that was closest to me last week and never got a response from them. Kinda bummed cause I wanted to see if I could get a trial version or something.

A trial version? No wonder they didn't respond - try making an appointment.

That's because on the turbo VW's that is your biggest bang for the buck mod, 30 to 50 hp depending on your other mods. Nothing tops it. Plus it is tailored to the stock set-up. That's why I am looking forward to what GIAC does to the new MINI's

The VW/Audi 1.8T & 2.0T engines can get amazing gains from a chip. It increases the turbo's boost.

Don't expect the same results from a supercharged engine as boost is controlled via the pulley. But with a good ECU software, you can get a few HP, and more importantly an increadible smoothness!

GIAC delivers both : a few HP (5-8hp) and extra smoothness!

Oh yeah, I know what you mean. We have GIAC on my Jetta and my wifes MINI, but I was talking about the turbo MINI's A chip may become the first to do mod on 07's and up. We shall see. You are right on about what GIAC does to the current generation. It is all about the smoothness

Voila!

I hope the R56 (2007) MCS will get the same improvement from a chip than the famous VW's 1.8T & 2.0T engines!

btw, nice GLI Batrugger! A friend of mine had a nice dark silver GLI in Montreal, but it got stolen in his garage 2 years ago... :-(
