Drivetrain ECU Group buy?

>>You guys are awful tough on the leading edge entreprenneurs working hard to develop mods for this machine. You'all obviously really want this mod badly as you are ranting on about the price.
Well, you misunderstand my passion. I'm trying to HELP them.
I also take issue with a couple of things; write their business plan? SURE! It's a couple of guys in a garage. People who do these things for MONEY overcharge. (cough). Most people do this for love of the game. After talking to Randy they are the manufacturer and master distributor.
Know how I'd do it? I'd hire the programmers on percentage commission. Most programmers would take it. I did once and did very well. Randy at BMC does it for love of the game. Blah, too many wrong points in your post to address.

Everyone "votes" with thier wallet on this one.
I am somewhat concerned about not "owning" the flash.
I would not be able to "reflash" my own vehicle should it require.
Imagine buying a computer that would come with no Operating System Disk.
You would have NO recourse in the event of the smallest of issues.
At $0.00 price, I would still have concerns, you?
When a "BMW" owner is in the market for a flash, he may choose from products that allow for him to select "stock" or "performance" and reflash at will. The hardware unit is compact and included in the purchase AND the price is way below our current offering.
Priorities:
1. Working product. (Looks like we might have some) completed
2. Packaging. (Hardware unit to allow end user flashing) incomplete
3. Competition. (Several offerings, ONLY thing to reduce price) the truth
Voting with your wallet is the only "sound" that is heard by those that offer a product. You either buy it or you buy another or you buy nothing.
Next: Comparison of the HP gains of a flash product that the end user can NOT perform with an exhaust is ridiculous and totally discounts such "tangibles" delivered by the exhaust such as "the sound", the appearance & consmetics.
Hmmm, I feel better now, time for my "blue" pill.

i just got 1 question btw.
u saying that it would be good that end user is allow to flash their own ECU with like laptop or handheld devices, it would certainly be good for end user, however,
does that mean that the end user can flash it on other MCS as well??
just like a computer software, and people can copy it for their friends and etc.
maybe there is some kind of protection to avoid people doing that,
but i am not sure, just would like to know

I believe he is talking about Shark Injectors, and no, they can only be used to flash the same car. They are smart enough to recognize the computer and once you use it on a car, it can only be used on that car. I emailed Bonneville Motorwerks a looooong time ago about them coming out with something for the MINI but never got a response. Here's the link to their page about the Shark...

I have flashed my car back and forth between stock and chipped over 20 times, using a laptop and cable, I'm trying out some new files tomorrow to see what the gains are like.
It works similar to the Shark except:
A) There are MINI applications.
B) Updates can be sent by email.

that would be cool if we could get those software and hardware or if we can purchase them seperately.
like by downloading the software so that we dont have to post our ECU to the place to flash if we are overseas, or flash back to the original ecu so that the dealer wont know
