Did muffler shop balk?

I'm hoping my local shop won't balk at doing this mod...does anyone know the issues related to havin' "only" one?

Besides noise(the purpose of one ballin I presume), another issue would maybe be emission related I would guess.

No issues here. Love the sound and you lose 20 lbs.

The purpose is two fold - wieght loss and a freer flowing system. You drop around 20-24lbs and you get ride of length and bends. Sound is minimally louder, so if its sound you want not the way to go.

It's just a resonator, the only result is less weight, less backpressure, and louder. Emissions shouldn't be affected one bit.....

newbie to the group. just had the one ball done on my 05 mcs as well and can tell the difference in sound. little more popping than I would like but the tradeoff is worth it for now. find I have my music turned down more often. and i'm an old fart of 58.

I know I saw it somewhere, but of course can't find it thru the search. What is the pipe size for the one ball? I know the replacement pipe goes from one size to another.

Ken

ps. Forget it. Found the info. 2 1/4 to the resonator, 2 1/2 between resonator and muffler.

No need for a muffler shop if you buy this:

Says that it's ready to go... of course you'll have to make the cuts to your pipe which I'd think a recip saw would cut very easily.

The one ball is one of the low buck mods that many people start out with. It gives your car a little more " personality " and is easy to do. If you decide to go back to stock there have to be 100's of stock systems lying around that you could pick up for a song.

One point not yet mentioned is perforrmance related:
Reduced backpressure = Performance (especially on a supercharged engine).

Some measurements from Roland at GTT showed backpressure numbers for the one-ball right in there with the popular performance cat-back systems.

SCORPION .........+3.5psi
STOCK................+2.5psi (' 03 car)
One Ball ..........+1.75psi ('03 car)
JCW ...................+3.75psi
Miltek..................+1.25psi

Hard to ignore for the results!
