progressive water injection system

Has anyone bought this? Is it all they say it is? I feel that having to add water to some tank would get old fast.

That looks to be a nice kit. I've seen others priced at $300 all the way up to $1200.
There have been lots of people talk about doing a kit, but only a few have.
Search around a bit and you'll get the 411 you need.

I don't have thi specific kit, but I did do the water/methanol injection from CoolingMist.com. I love it. I am using a 3 gal. outboard gas tank. In 2 months I have barely touched it. Keep in mind that it only comes when you reach a certain amount of boost. Mine is set to come on at 8lbs. Usually when I go past 8lbs I am at WOT.

I have the Snow kit on the way to me... they said the qt tank they supply will last a tank of gas IF your pushing it hard!! as it only comes on when you want it!! They say that the methonal/water willbe like 116 Octane Fuel!! No spark retard there.. LOL They say that the basic install will yeild a min of 10% more power and up to 20% boost in power They say..... rocks!! I am going to install and dyno.. and see!!215 Whp + 21 (10% ) is a freaking lot!! 236 WHP!!! But I am not at 215.. I am a lowley un-moded 06!! 145 WHP!! I'll spray stock... add my 15% pulley, and my head and spray again!! But cant do anything till the Snow Kit gets here!! LOL

x2! if this is as good as they say, it could be a great supplement to a pulley

With the way our SC builds heat.. and the way the heat causes pump gas to ping... and the way the ECU pulls timing when that happens... Yep!! the water meth should be great!! I am going to add tha pulley.. add a set of shaved Ported heads, keep the stock IC and use the water/Meth to control the heat and gas detonation and make power that way!! The bigger the IC the smaller the S/C becomes as the volume of air to move is bigger. ( plus it is way cheaper than the 800.00 IC.. lol)

Consider supersizing your IC scoop. The stock IC is up to doing a good job, a supersized scoop like from M7/Uber will get the most out of it. keep an eye out at the markeplace for one.

I got the Stage 2 ! Still isnt here yet... guess they deliver in a truck... would be faster with a MCS!! LOL When you call them and let them know your application, they will "dial " in a kit for you.. as close as you can get!! AND when you recieve, they will also walk you thru the install and basic tuning... rocks!!

What are you hoping to be your "gain" benefits from a number perspective? I can appreciate that expactations can be different from actual, whta were your thoughts going into the project?

Two areas I anticipate benefit.

the first is what Thumper mentioned. Supressing timing retard. The second involves tuning. Our Minis run pig rich, some of that is using gas as the cooling liquid. So you add the water, and then dial back the gas, and then you get the best power! And better mileage too....

I'm playing with a non-progressive system now. Just starting to work on installation. I'll be using the Xenon washer tank as the resevoir.

Automist sure has a sucky web-page. But they're in England, and the dollar isn't doing to well lately...

The Exchange is almost 2.00 USD to the British Pound!!

Snow says with out a tune for the Meth.. we can expect at least 10% !! 180 WHP MCS is 18 more at the wheel!! They expect 20-25 % increase with tuning ( of which we sux at present!). I am trying to beat the 800.00+ cost on an I/C to make the same, if not MORE power than the I/C!! TampaMCS is on my butt to get mine up and working... ( I recieved it 6 days ago) !! He is working on a different system.. at the end of all this there should be a good sample of more than a few type systems , cool??

My long term goal is 225 WHP on my Head/ 15% pulley/ Meth Kit and my 1 ball exhaust, all else STOCK !! Then tune more power.. trying to stay realistic on my cost and HP gains...

Just me..........................

Thumper

PS: I have the progressive system.

PS. I have the basic on/off stage one, and I love it. I can only imagine how much better the progressive kit works.

I have the cooling mist one on my Benz and I was thinking about something for my Mini once I get it back. I was wondering were you running spray when you got your 215whp?

I just don't believe it...

This sounds like marketing speak and would surprise me tons if it were true. To get 10% more power with just this, you'd have to drop intake temps 30-40 Centigrade, all without displacing any oxygen. If you displace oxygen, then you need to drop intake temps even more!

But really, I hope to be proved wrong. I have an early Alta system (just pressure switch activated, no progressive action) that I started hacking on today. If this really is a 10% silver bullit, then it will be some of the best power per $ of any mod, short of nitrous!
