Anyone follow the discussions/experience with boosted engines by ENDYN (www.theoldone.com). My former passion was Honda CRX, and couldn't bring myself to buy a new car until the MCS came along... Anyway, ENDYN has a lot of experience with RELIABLE boosted engines with compression ratios of 10-12 to 1. I may be mis-summarizing, but proper squish, quench area, and swirl make this possible without detonation...

At the core of the philosophy is that RPM is bad, make your torque at low RPMs with boost and leading edge combustion chamber design.

I'm not going to debate these points in this discussion. If you disagree, read the archives, articles, etc. at the page and then form an opinion.

I am going to encourage those who are interested to send them an e-mail letting them know. Here's an e-mail exchange:

----------

We haven't had requests for mini pistons yet. We require one stock piston
and a cylinder head for designing pistons. No blower is planned at this
point.

Welcome to the board!

So those guys redesign the pistons to get more torque at lower RPMs? That seems to be what everyone wants, isn't it? Probably super expensive though, i'd imagine...

I spoke with larry (TOO) at great length about eaton blowers one day. $1500 to do the porting, ceramic coating, and port matching of the supercharger and its inlet and outlet.

macncheese: Did you go as far as to ask them about any upgrades to the super charger to be more robust running at higher boost-like the 13-15 PSI you get from the popular pulley upgrade?

Grinder: The pistons and the heads, really... They're either side of the combustion chamber. ENDYN is unique (I think) in their treatment of the pistons as well as the head

All: It seems like their aren't any reliability issues with a basically stock SC running at higher RPM/boost (considering you can get a slightly modified one from JCS, and keep your warranty). Having been a believer in ENDYN's experience, this seemingly simple mod has me a little scared, and wondering if I should have an experienced shop upgrade my SC before I get too far along with things.
