Who here has a twincharged or turbo only daily driver?

Now that my car is in a million pieces and is cleaning out my wallet, I have decieded to put CP Pistions in my car in case I want to go turbo down the road. My two concerns are money and can a 300whp Mini be a daily driver? I drive between 1500 to 4000 miles each month on the Mini and maybe 200 on my E55. I'm thinking a turbo only car would be much simpler and would have less heat problems and tunning problems. Also I could run less boost with the turbo only kit then the twincharged and still make the same amount of power.
Never in my wildest dreams thought I would spend this kind of money on a car that most people don't even think I can fit into.
M

There was several months ago, he sold it. There will be again soon if you go over to the M|U. And there is one that remains a degree of question in my mind as to wether or not its a daily.

You can search if you like, there some video on the topic, however if those that have wish to comment here is a bump so they are one step closer to seeign this thread.

I'm talking about twins, not sure how many are currently running just turbo, I know a few are looking into/ Have looked into doing it. Pure turbo seems like the safer route compare to twin.

Mariokart, What do you atribute all your engine problems to? We've been abusing these cars hard for several years and haven't had an engine related failure yet(knock on wood). We've had driveline issues and engine mount issues but the engines have been very reliable. Even our turbo car has been reliable on a daily basis and any problems encountered early on were from add ons such as boost control solenoids and BOVs.
In the higher output engines that we build for track use, we use factory components as they are the best available. We have used custom pistons from various companies but that was due to needing a specific change that was not available with the factory parts and not a quality issue.
Our experience to date has shown that a properly designed and calibrated turbo conversion can be just as reliable as the factory supercharged version and deliver more power. Except for some different noises and more acceleration when you press the throttle hard, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between the turbo and the factory car in normal driving situations.
Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble. I am glad that you're sticking with the Mini.

This is great to hear

I have my checkbook ready when Brian, Chris, Hubie, and Tim get my kit all put together. Here's hoping I will be the 1st AZ turbo only MCS by April Fool's day.
