I never saw it but I heard it was broken Perhaps the owner could check in with the details sometime , all my info was second hand.

I saw it 1st hand....

#1 piston......CRUSHED RINGLANDS
#2 piston....... CRACKED RINGLANDS
#3 piston...... STILL OK
#4 piston..... CRACKED RINGLANDS

with 300 degree F inlet temps... it's surprising all 4 didn't go on pump gas

Sounds like one of those videos I find on YouTube of some fella's engine exploding.

Always makes me laugh.

while I took the 62 kit off my car, it was not because it blew up,....... it was because it never behaved to my satisfaction

Oh, I know it happened, Tuls. My friend Mark from Indy has got one on his car. He's had some minor issues (boost leak, etc..) that have kept it from running at it's full potential, but I do believe all of those issues are fixed, and I also believe Jan is coming to Indy here shortly to tune Marks car

FYI

When we sent out that kit to him we thought it was going on a stock car, but found out once it was already out there installed that it was running on a car with an 8000RPM redline. The pulley on the kit was not made for that higher RPM and with the cars 8000RPM redline ended up spinning the supercharger over 18,000 RPM's which is way above the redline for that supercharger, and hence bad things happened.

18000RPM's = bad on a M62

Dave,

we know the kit wasn't made for that, it wasn't a shot at you it was just a statement of the condition of the engine

Jan,

I know you weren't taking a shot at me, its all love, as Tuls and Mark have shown us already Just wanted to give a little more info. I am actually surprised the little engine held together for as long as it did.
