Ya willing to pay $7-8K minimum?
And actually the concept is as old as the MINI. Randy Webb looked into it looooooong before M7 did.

I first heard of the twinscrew from Randy Webb as well...about two years ago.... I don't recall Peter talking about it but that does not mean it did not happen..... the cost of development and the cost of the "part" vs what twincharge was bringing at the time made it cost prohibitive for the potential. I think the 62 has lots of promise but it is not cheap to do this kind of work.... and frustrating.... remember this is the bleeding edge.... guys like Peter, Jan, John, Don, Randy W. and Dave to name a few understand product and system development on this car is .... well,..... a *****.... or at least it sure seems to be..... the reward is when your dreams, theories, hopes and expectations start to "make soup"..... we may be at that point with the 62...... stay tuned

anyone want to drive my car to and from Atlanta to LDG.... in case I can not go soon???????? Oh yes, and back??????

Sorry to jump in on this but we were the ones that were contacted by the twin screw guys first . At that time Randy was a dealer for our products and offered to join us in this project. As we were offered about a 11% profit margin from the supplier we passed on it and let randy carry on.

Back to your thread.

In other than Minidom...

lots are using oversized SCs to get bigger peak numbers. FWIW, someone put a 3.2 liter SC on a GT500 and got over 700 HP, but it lost a bit down low cause the SC was turning too slow (there's a big hint there how to make it all work well).

I spoke with dave the other day. he said he can do it but it's not really a kit. you have to take your car there and let him install then tune it. wish i could afford it. and a new exhaust, coilovers, LSD. the list doesn't end.

Sorry I thought he ment M7 building it. Didn't mean to say it couldn't be done by DDM.

Tuls is correct we were just trying to finish it up so it could be marketed as a complete kit. We have one car running but have not gotten the support we really needed to finish it up as we wanted. Give Dave at DDM a call and maby he will have some time available to help you out.

the big SC thing works! its just on the mini there is no ECU to controle it yet! :(

im sure if there was a total plug and play standalone it would change things...alot.

the whipple 3.3ltr SC are monsters! there is a guys i speak to who is putting one on his Vette and its crazy. it does sound good though!

Chris.

Actually yes . The car which had the engine problem was one of our own dealers . He has gone back to a more stock condition and we have since installed the kit on another car. This was a special request and we do not plan on doing any more of these in the near future.

there is a standalone to run it. Just pick a stanalone ecu (although i think some dont play well with boosted applications, you will have to do some research), and giveerhell. Actually, this is off topic, but anyone out there have any standalone ecu experience? Im going to need on on the mini next year....

thanks

Beecher
