Milltek installed today

I had my new Milltek cat back exhaust system put on this morning. Wow ! the fit and finish of this thing is really nice. I had done the one ball surgery three weeks ago which was very very nice for such a low price but really wanted the Milltek to go with my new mods of CAI and Pulley. The sound is not loud at all but much deeper in tone. Jumped on to the freeway and had no drone at all. Thanks to Stratmosphere and my piano playin buddy there for a great deal. I highly recommend the Milltek system and Stratmosphere as well.

What differences did you notice going from the one-ball to the Milltek?
Sound and Power wise...

Well, I had the one ball for three weeks and It was louder and popped a lot more than stock but power wise I can't say. It sounded faster . I think it added to the pulley and CAI but after installing the Milltek everything seems much more smooth than with the one ball. If my wife had not let me get the Milltek, I think I would have been happy with the one ball. My car is a completely different animal. I'm just getting the feel for the Milltek, it sounds deeper and just so much more refine. I like how the exhaust cans can't be seen from the back of the car, the cans are a much smaller than on others I've seen in person and in pictures. I have a few friends that have 03,04 cars and the cans look much like the JCW cars where the bottom of the cans can be seen from underneeth. My new sway bar goes on this weekend and I think this will be it for performance mods . My car has only 11000 miles and I want to have a trouble free car. The pulley, CAI, exhaust and hot wires make this car what it should have been from the factory. NIght and day difference. When you step on it hard this thing just screams. I hope to dyno the car(for fun) although I never got a base line in it's stock form. I have heard from some post that adding cold plugs is a good idea but I have also heard that it can make the car throw codes.

I bought mine thru Stratmosphere. I did a lot of calling but found that they had a great deal going on. Give them a call. I would also call Way Motorworks.

You can't go wrong with the Milltek it is my favorite mod so far. It just sounds so good but at the same time not too loud.

And the sound does get better over time.

When you say the sound gets better over time, do you mean it get's deeper in tone ? louder? I think there is fiberglass inside to resonator and wonder if that starts to get hot and melt making for a different tone.

I was talking with zied today about the Milltek. He said his has gotten louder. I was driving behind him for a while today, and it still doesn't sound that loud to me. Sounds great, though.

Don't know enough about them to know why the sound might get louder, but the resonator theory sounds plausible.

After driving with the Milltek for a few days I find that it really isn't much louder then the OEM exhaust only deeper in sound unless you stand on it and then it tends to wake up. I still believe that the one ball was a bit louder but not as smooth. The Milltek just seems to be a much more refine (smooth) sound. I think I will like it even more if it does in fact get louder. I'm still getting use to the sound of the CAI. The whoosh sound of the CAI covers up the sound of the exhaust for the most part. It would seem that it brought the whole system together and I'm very glad that I got it.

thanks for the info, have you checked with your dealer about warranty coverage? My guess is this is not an issue for you or you have a mod friendly dealer? Either way i can't wait to do those same mods they are all i plan to do as well, as i need a dependable and fun car

I love my Milltek. The sound is a little louder than stock yet is comfortable cruising down the highway. My only suggestion is to take care cleaning the boot for about the first 1,000 miles. As the exhaust settles in. Fine metal particles are released and make home on the boot. Rubbing this stuff on the boot as you know can be bad for the paint. Make sure to spray it off well before washing.

Here is a clip you can hear the Milltek on a run of mine. video

Lemme see if this link works:

There's a thread "Webb Motorsports 1st quarter update" under "Vendor Announcements". There is a link to the Webb site where you can schedule requests. I also sent Randy an email directly, just to be sure. He got back to me the following day.

On my car it just seems to have a little more of a rumble after the first week (500 Miles).

I'm with you on that. CAI - Pulley - Exhaust - Springs - Strutbar That's all I want to do. I only have 700 miles on my '06, but I'm looking to do these changes in the next few months. This board is a great source of info and I think I'm heading toward a Milltek system as well.

Not sure where my dealer stands on honoring warranty issues on a car with these minimal changes. I'm gonna talk to some people and see what the consensus is about them.

It's hard not to want a nice sounding exhaust after attending AMVIV. Probably the same for folks who do the Dragon.

Very cool Paulie! Glad to hear you like your Milltek! I loved my Remus on my old Cooper---so one day I'll get a Milltek for my S. Looking at your mod list, I can see one thing you might still do---Koni FSD's. I love em!!!!
