That is some serious hardware, Bob. I hope it works as good as it looks for your setup. Very nice.

Everyone should have their cats flanged. There are too many unwanted kittens as it is.

(It's a joke)

Where is the cat sourced from? Looks like a Thunderbolt from Performance Curve like the one I added to my Mini-mania exhaust manifold. Notice that I had a flange added so that I can play with other cats as well. The flanges were from Verocious Motorsports.

What size tubing is being used? I think mine is at 2.5 inches. Those merge collectors are huge! Looks like a really decent header. Ceramic coating? Did you run an electric water pump with your M62 SC? How much modification was needed?

Maybe not, but it looks right, more than 90% of the time, it is Trust me on this.

The flex on the 2 secondaries is a very good idea. I think you're in for a very pleasent suprise....

just got back from a drive

the "butt dyno" loves it......

I don't want to over sell but the power compression that was brought on by the impediment to flow seems to be gone...... there seems to be a nice bump in tq and the kicker is that it is quieter than the Milltek.....

I am very impressed and looking forward to the "tune"

Can't wait to hear how it all works out after the tune. Will you have your old numbers to compare. Dumb question. I know you will.

I have to laugh....... things move slower than that ..... I just got to drive the car today and the unit just got it's final welds about 1/2 hr before that..... the car will go to Greenviille SC on Sunday and sometime monday will get tuned and dynoed with a few different designed headers...a 4x1 is in the works..... there maybe a pulley size change to drop the boost a few psi and then a Unichip tune..... with luck we will know something by the end of next week..... in which by the way I will be in LA (I will visit M7) and Las Vegas (my GF loves Celine and we have tickets)...... think Milltek for price.

patience (in which I have none) is a virtue

Really nice looking piece there and it is certainly different than most of the other Mini offereings. Its worth the extra time to do it the correct way. Do keep us posted.

They are very similar. Almost identical until the flex pipes. Yours looks like it uses thicker diameter tubing. Looks like 2" Primaries and 3" collector. Very nice piece, artwork haha

Are you running any resonator on your system or is it straight back from the cat to your mufflers? Thanks, Steve

i think you should tell Justin to make it into a 2 piece system. make it with a removeable cat for the added advantage of track pipes or easier repacement of the cat. unless he plans on having a lifetime replacement policy in case the cat goes boom a la Milltek. just a thought. BTW it looks absolutely beautiful, and i for one am eagerly awaiting more news on this header. thanks again Bob for all your help.
