AFE Install Experience

Just picked up an 05 MCS and am loving every minute I drive it (no really, I really am falling in love with this thing). I can now appreciate why people feel the way they do about their Minis.

Anyway, I was looking for an intake for my recently purchased 05 MCS. I read about the various options and ended up going with an AFE. I have a Stage 2 on my dually and like the quality very much. So I picked one up and did the install tonight...ok...I certainly will not claim to be an ASE mechanic, but I'm not completely mechanically incompetent either. That install was not fun...in a word...uncomfortable...just plain uncomfortable putting this thing on. I finally got it on, but I'm not too thrilled about one of the silicon couplers touching the charger plumbing....

I took it out for a spin and I wanna say it feels smoother...not sure if it really is smoother or if I just want to believe it feels smoother

Next up....an Invidia exhaust
