The guy sent me a sketch of a complete unit, I don't know who's was what, but it definitely looks like the one they are/were running, and it will definitely fit in front of the raditor without the condenser.

I had Gerhard make me that exact intercooler but 4.5in thick. However it was too deep and woulnd't fit.

He also told me that the endtanks weren't his and he didn't know what they looked like.

hey all! thanks so much for all the comments.... I have been working long hours and had limited time to the computer... as I am moving again and do not have access to my own computer right now... I will answer all the questions when I can...

as for a kit... heh... prolly not... it would be tough to create something like that for mass consumption...

as for smaller... so you don't haveto cut the bumper... SURE!

as for AC... yes it would fit... I took mine out as I didn't want the extra spinning mass... I never use my ac anyway... even when it's hot... I dunno... I just love having every HP I can... LOL...

as for a diagram for the pipes running... when I have some time and get settled... I'll make a ruff 3d model to show it :D

Tuls, nice work! That thing is MacMassive!

Here is an intercooler that would work well & has about twice the volume as say the Alta V1 top mount.

I was always told never to go bigger than 3". Even on a BT setup. This was by all my VDub buddies. 4.5 is massive!

Well this hold some truth. The deeper the core the more difficult it is for the air to pass through. However 4.5 isn't close to the DFIC. What is that like 12"?

I think you are comparing two different things.
The 4.5" of your IC was for the ambient to flow through. The part of the DFIC core the ambient flows through is roughly 6" and the charge air flows through roughly a 10.5" core.

It's only 6-7....

But the depth is more than compensated for by the increased cooling air flow. All the flow through top mount types are this way.

Ummm....it's gonna cost like 3x that for what I plan on doing. Plus, I am in the very very early stages of it like getting a block and some other misc. parts. Tuls, knows he IS gonna help me but he just doesn't want to think about it. Plus, my car looks like a bomb went up in it at the moment. Can't think about the motor/trans until this crap is done.
