N2O intercooler sprayer

Hey whats up everbody. im planning on making a diverter and sprayer for the stock ic. im playing with the idea of the nitrous express ic sprayer. i have another car i am putting into storage and i am planning on taking the bottle, lines, and purge valve off that car and put it to some use with the sprayer. i was looking into the cryo 2 kits but im read that that is bad for the engine if it gets into the intake. anyway. if any of you guys have some experience with that i would like to get some tips, and maybe some dos and donts...
thanks

Just get a shark injector and run the fuel line from the fuel rail...might get some more HP that way rather than freezing the IC. Good luck!

not to mention, if you're just using N20 for cooling, there is no need for a purge, although theres never really any need for it, people just think its look cool. . .

The only time I might recommend a purge system is for a car that's used in drag racing, especially bracket racing, where consistency is key and hundreths of a second count. With a purge valve, you can be sure that the nitrous lines are filled with liquid all the way to the solenoid, rather than a mixture of gas and liquid. Again, it's more for consistency between runs than absolute horsepower gain.

yeah, the nitrous in the lines would be used up in the first 60 ft. . .

for bracket racing, makes sense, but for anything else, its just show

well im not using the purge to load the n2o line, im using the purge valve to spray the ic. it would be dumb to purge the system...though by purgeing the lines, there would be zero lag when cooling the intercooler! haha kidding.

but yeah

im going to make my line connect simmilar to the ic sprayers that are already out. but i would like to try a zig zag type of design that will cover more surface area. and then ill just hit the purge valve to spray onto the ic. but ill check out that injector thing. i havent looked at the link yet. im intrested.
by the way thanks for all the insight so far

well of course i would get more hp from just running n2o , but thats a bigger risk, but im not willing to take that risk just yet. im just having some fun with a n2o kit that i have, and dont want it to go to waste, but at the same time i dont want to sell it, because later on ill probably just put it back on the old mustang.

but thanks for the insight anyway Johan!

Buy the NOS brand kit, its worth the money, but hide the bottle, not legal in any state to have an open nitrous bottle in the car.

Unless you have money to burn...I wouldn't use N2O as a cooling agent at over $40 per 10lb bottle...try CO2...

Carrying 20+lbs of bottle/agent to get a few extra ponies cooling the IC sounds very inefficient...

Rather than spraying N2O into the atmostphere (where it might find it's way into the intake OUCH!), inject it and get some real HP

Weren't there, aren't there issues with the CO2 getting ingested and killing power?
I'd think the HAI and AGS would be more susceptible than some to this.

Better killing power than unexpected N2O injestion

normally you and i are on the same page... but im going to have to disagree with you on this...

this is a mod for about 400 bucks... plus bottle fills... will give you 30hp on demand safely and relieably... i would say that is very efficent for the money!

If any nitrous does make it into the intake... (which if you have an alta or most of the other brankds of intakes this wont be a problem) but if it does make it into the intake... this is what we call "extra" power. Also, the amount of nitrous that would find its way into the intake would be very very little... so little that no addtional fuel would need to be added. it would NOT be dangerous. I have sprayed a full bottle of nitrous 3 inches away from teh filter while on the dyno and didn't loose the motor... it was a little too lean... but again this was the entire bottle it was not regulated by any jets... or any line... just straight out of the bottle. The amount of nitrous that would be coming out of the nitrous ring would be signifiantly less...

The dismal amount of nitrous that would find its way into the intake would be so little that it would barely barely barley affect a/f ratios. It would definetly NOT be harmful to the car

Really? 30hp just by chilling the IC?

If this is true...then why not use CO2?
