OBX Header Missing Pipe Length???

Ok, so... IF one is to supply your own CAT or Test Pipe when using the OBX header...

I'd really like to use this setup and install it in my own garage.

PRETTY PLEASE????

Can a handful of you with the OBX header setup on your car, measure the overall length of the CAT or Test Pipe which you are using so I can have one made???

I found a post SOMEWHERE a while ago that mentioned 13.5"...

Anyone?

I am also interested in knowing what needs to be done to mate the OBX to a one-ball (stock) exhaust.. WITH cat.

Measurements will help but its best to "make it" on the fly so you don't get any exhaust rattles. Many of us have the "driving to midas muffler w/ open header" experience.

NOTE: check your exhaust tips "before" (i.e. how much they stick out) and before finanlizing everything - review tips. My first round, it pushed the tips out a bit and of course had a rattle. Got it right the second time.

I'm aware of this, but I'm not about to pay a muffler shop to touch my car when I am perfectly capable with the proper information.

Lucily my Milltek's slip fit will let me resolve most fitment issues as long as it is close!

Blue arrow......gasket is not included in the measurement
Red/Wht arrow.....gasket included in the measurement

Let me know the exact measurements that you are looking for. I can get a little bit more specific if I need to.......

WAHOO! That's it!

If I could just get a couple more, I could avg it out. I'm betting it needs to be 13.5" though!

That's on a std. Cooper right? I wonder if the S makes any difference?

I thought of that as I posted this.....

Yes this is from an MC and I'm not certain that they are the same, but I think that they are? Could Be? Should be.... MCS and MC use the same header so it should work.
When you do the final cutting make sure that you are precise and check it a few times. 13.5" is roughly the right measurement, so make sure that you check it alot.

Motor On!

There aren't any MCS owners with an OBX header willing to measure for me?

Rig it to slip fit, mark, cut, weld, or just leave it slip fit. There are a couple of threads where others have described doing it as a slip fit.

I have no problem measuring. I can probably do it tonight after work. I'm installing it on MINIQue with a One-Balled '05 Stock Exhaust, so I don't know if that makes a difference. I see you have a Miltek Aftermarket.

jymontoya,

Have you seen this picture/thread? If you have the tools & talant to DIY, I bet you can figure it out from the various threads. I'm not trying to be an a$$ or anything but it seems like you've been trying to get these numbers for a while now, I couldn't wait, I'd just go for it man.

That is a good thread. I'd agree, just go for it. I've been working overtime at both jobs, so I've been too tired to measure anything except the light blocking ability of my eyelids!

I will try to post numbers/measurements in this thread when I can, but there is no way I can tell you when I can get around to it.
