Not that you asked, but stop chacing world domination..... enjoy the fun...

I have nothing else to say! Hope you figure out a solution.

It's funny that you say that. I've asked myself more than once and just wondered in general,
Why do we do it?
All the mods, all the power, there will always be someone putting down more power than you.
It must just be in my blood.
BTW, I am enjoying it!

Do you know what unit he used for the mock up?
As long as it will physically fit in the space vacated by the M45, it wouldn't take too much to get it to work.
Would need an electric water pump like the one used on the M62 kit.
I wonder how the sensors act with 18-19-20psi.

i don't know about the drivers you guys were racing but stock sti's run 13.2 to 13.4's in the quarter all day long. also they typically put down 240whp all day long. with alot or torqe to the wheels. i build wrx's and sti's for a living and it would take alot of mods to keep up with a stock sti in a strait line. my last 2.5 put down 525hp and 520ft-lb of torque with stock internals on 100 octane fuel at 20.58lbs of boost. don't get me wrong i own both cars and love my modded mini but turbo and 2.5 liters are tuff to beat for making power. i am in the process of building a 1,100hp 2.8liter boxer motor.

I'd settle for a AWD MINI with 300hp at the wheels.

I can't even imagine what that would feel like. I've been in some 500 horse RWD cars, but never AWD. That's just sick.

An adictive sickness.

I believe Swift Motorsports is the closest place to get a Unichip tuned, with a dyno, for me too. Nice find Partsman.

It is a good place, the guys are real cool. I remember Greg(onasled)saying something about another tuner in central CT.

Yup, it looks like they have their act together.

Unfortunately for you there will be quicker SIs, tuned there, than your Mini. Mini management is a very tough nut. Fireballed is the only 1 that has anything big, haven't seen what they do or how they do it, what ever it is people say it works. I'de be real interested in what they can do for your car with a Unichip. MTH, as good as it is for Mini, does not have the potential for a trick tune.

I talked to Matt(the owner) and the guy I tested with(Geoffrey) not that long ago, seems they sent two of their guys to train at UNIchip, so they could do custom tunes. The only thing that sucks is the airflow issue with the MINI on a dyno.

partmans,

what paxton s/c are you lookin at? I'm sure it could be done, you would need to get a whole bunch of pulleys to see which on you liked the most... and with it being a centrifugal blower, you'll make most of your power up top!

are you going to do another dyno session up in CT again?

Not sure yet, would probably use a Vortech if will fit. I need to look up the specs for the M45 to see what it flows and go from there.

I do plan on going up there to see what my car is putting down now, last time I still had the resonator and the pre-cat installed and no crank pulley. I'd like to see if there's any difference.

You need a cooler air path - use a fence between the CAI hose & the block, then ice the IC. The numbers will be off but you will get a good idea of where you are. The numbers don't mean all that much if you don't have a base #. If you are going for a Unichip ( with 1 of the shelf tunes ), do a before & after. The dyno will tell you which way to go at that point
