Tensioner Stop Bar Install

I installed a MyMini tensioner stop bar this afternoon. I think it's much easier to remove the front wheel to get better access while removing the fender liner and installing the bar than just leaving the wheel cranked right. The slotted end is a challenge due to the added thickness of the bar and spacer, but if you tilt the bolt head toward the back of the car, hold the bar and spacer tight against the bolt head, and wiggle, it will pop into place. The one problem assciaated with the installation is that it's impossible to get a torque on the bolt heads. I'm wondering if others have had success with a torque wrench, or did you just give it a good tug? I'm pretty sure I'm nowhere near the recommended 24 ft. lbs., but I want the bar to slide as designed. Any thoughts. Thanks!

when I installed my bar two weeks ago, i removed the whole tensioner, to be safe. I didnt think it could be done successfully with the tensioner left in place, but there you go, kudos on the install!

I'm guessing that the best resource for removal of the tensioner would be the Bentley manual again, right?
Or has someone else written up a how-to?

Do yourself a big favor and leave the tensioner installed. Once you have the fender liner out of the way, it will probably take about ten minutes (with a ratcheting box end wrench) to install the stop bar.

I was going to install mine today. Decided to wait and install a new tensioner at the same time. (93k on car)
Thanks for the tips!
Jim
