I bought a K&N air filter about 2 weeks ago. I noticed a day after fixing it that it had slipped down the waxy tube, despite being tied really tight to the appropriate tube. I knew that I would have to keep an eye on it. Earlier today I had noticed that it had slipped off completely and had actually snapped in one place where the element fixes to the tube. I don't know how long it had been like this but I am concerned if this could do any lasting damage? Any thing could have been sucked into the engine. I am not happy with K&N and I wouldn't be surprised if they try and fog me off with some bull shi* story and try and tell me it was my fault, not there cheap and tacky plastic materials! It wasn't the Hurricane filter as it isn't availiable yet, just the element itself. :???:

Racer,

I've used K&N filters for 15 years on my other cars, Toyotas, VDubs, MG, Audi with nary a problem. They are a first rate organization, with good aftermarket engineering. I suggest that you call them and describe your problems. It may be an anomoly rather than a "crappy" product.

Are you talking about a drop in replacement filter or a cone filter on an intake?

BoyRacer,

Your explanation is about as clear as if it had been given by Borat Sagdiyev himself.
