Stahl Header...

HI all, I just got one. And for those that don't think the header construction is that different, oh my! I'll post some photos shortly...

1) The flange is a work of art.

2) Stepped primaries, with D shaped pipe for the first bit.

3) Really LONG primaries... Did I say long? I mean long... (at least for our cars).

4) The collector is a work of art! I'll post some photos of the outside later....

5) Anti-reversion feature in the collector. There's something in there that isn't in any other Mini header. I'm very curious as to how it all works out.... I have the flat spot bad, and I"m gonna see if this gets rid of it.... But I have some fabbing to do before hand. So it may take a while....

Some Photos...

The header

The flange

The outside of the collector

Overall, it's real, real nice (should be, it's not cheap!). But it will take a bit for me to get the rest of the parts I need for my exhaust, so this will be it as far as updates go for a while. Just thought some of you would like to see what it looks like...

Yep, I'm gonna use a cat...

but being a cheap bastard, I didn't buy the full exhuast from Don... So now I have a real nice header, with a 3" collector exit, and a shopping list!

Holy super long primaries batman. Seems very cool. I hope it does what people say it can.

Glad it's in the right hands to find out too.

Hey Doc, would you give us a list of your 'relevant' mods (wrt the header)? I'm sure once you install it and post your results, you'll get that question, so might as well address it early in the thread!

Well, it all depends on the day of the week...

but right now....

M7 16% pulley
JCW Injectors
DFIC
HAI
MTH Tuner
Denso IK-24s
OBX header with stock cat
One Ball exhaust.
m7 60mm TB

But I've got a head and intake and horns at a shop for a port polish, may get my hands on a water to air IC system, and who knows what else may get bolted on before I get my crap together!

For those that are asking...

someone is first in line for the OBX, but I honestly don't know if I'll part with it. I may put the stock back together in case of future emissions stuff...

And yes, those are AGS tubes. The Al one is a V3 prototype, and the black one is a modded v1.

And the bed is because my two year old has finally found her perpose in life:crawl into her parents bed, and locate herself perpendiculary to the parents. Push against them both all night long! So we upgraded to a king....

But this will be like all other projects of mine, start strong, go dormant for lack of funds, and eventally get done!

there's a businessman sitting at his desk, checking his calader and talking on the phone... "How's never for you?"

No, I'm not that bad, but I've got to choose the rest of the parts, buy the rest of the parts, put them all together, and get them all mounted up.

Without a doubt, I can commit to by the end of December...

Doc, is there a necessity for some type of flex joint to accomodate the movement of the engine (as seen on the factory system and other aftermarket headers)? If so, what do you have in mind?

It should be noted that an 8" flex joint is part of the Stahl system. The good Doc decided to make his own. More details are on the DMH Motorsports site.

This is *perfect*! This is exactly what our youngest daughter Emily does. And why perpendicular? She has to be touching a body constantly. Perhaps those without children won't appreciate this, but IMHO this is why I'm a Dad...
Now back to my MINI.

Yea, you and Obnxs just wait till you need to put them in their own bed.

At 2 the best part is the tickling snuggling part while they are in their sleepers......

Thanks for that info, wasn't trying to impugn your header, just wasn't sure about that part of the install.
