Don can you please tell me more about this. Is there anychance that you have a pic I can look at? How long before you get more in stock? Have you tuned any of these? What kind of results are you getting? Thanks! -- Johan

Not with the MINI specifically, but the adjustable cam gears basically allow you to slightly advance or retard all of the cam "events" (intake opening, intake closing, exhaust opening, exhaust closing) by a small amount, usually less than three degrees or so.

Obviously, since you're not changing the grind of the cam, the relationships between all of the cam events remains unchanged, but you can make them *all* happen a little sooner or later in the combustion cycle by changing the crank/cam relationship.

There's usually not much power to be found by degreeing a camshaft this way, but it's an option once you've done everything else.

Thanks again for putting the dyno day together yesterday. I'll post pics when I get off the ship.

Scott

i got some for my gti, never used them.

people where saying you could get 3-5 hp out of them, but you would be talking about some serious dyno time, taking off the manifold and adjusting them to something that works. and you also get to worry about the screws letting go >.>

its not worth it imo unless you have done everything. or you are running some radical cams and you are trying to do something special.
