Drivetrain DFIC car is faster!!!
DFIC car is faster!!!
My friend and I each purchased our MINIs around the same time. Our cars had the same mods installed by the same tuner (Alta 15%, CAI, MTH Tuner, TB, exhaust). Both our cars had identical performance. We often drove each others cars. Several months ago I had the M7 DFIC installed at Central Coast Coopers in Oxnard, CA. Immediately I noticed that the car was faster, had better throttle response and often I could use a higher gear. However I thought that some of the observed performance enhancement was due to placebo effect until I recently drove my friends car (no DFIC). The difference is very significant.
My three favorite mods are the 15% pulley, Koni FSDs and the DFIC without question.

You might want to add this if you don't have the ceramic undercoat...

Larry, that's a pretty interesting comparison. Thanks for posting. Glad you can smoke your buddy's car now.
Sid, did you notice any difference in the temp readings after the thermal barrier?

Buttdyno++ - drive-change car-drive. Kinda like checking two sets of speakers in an audio store (A-B-A-B).

I am having DFIC insulation issues. The adhesive foam strip peels away from the hood on the left side. I think Peter has a fix for this. Also what have all you DFIC owners done to seal the openings between top of both sides of the diverter and the hood?

You KNOW I'm waiting for the O2 sensor dude...I just did this tonight...

What the hell have you been doing??
I figured that was on the day after you got home from MOTD2006.
Oh yea, the sensor...
I've been too lazy to do this until now...now that I'm bored out of my mind with Msfitoy up on jacks :impatient
Oh, the AGS V.3 ...
You may have had a faster car all along.
What's important though is that you're happy.
I added this on top of my ceramic coating. Overkill, not sure, but I'm expecting that it helped some.

Having gone thru 3 IC units, I find that the DFIC makes the car the most "consistently strong" through out the day. When I go out to play with my G-Tech and do run after run, the car is more consistent with the DFIC as opposed to the others.
Bear in mind that I live in Florida where temps/heatsoak are magnified power robbers.
