Drivetrain cold air intakes for cooper
Is the noise that is emitted from the viper quieter than the cone filter is? Is it possible for me to 'upgrade' my pipercross to the viper or do i have to sell my current one and buy the viper seperately?

ARitz. The Viper is like a cone filter inside a canister. The canister hooks up at both ends to stock pipes/ducting. The material of the canister acts a lot like the stock airbox, deadening much of the sound you hear from open cone filters. My ears can't hear any difference between stock and Viper sound levels.
Does anyone have the Green Twister CAI? Since it has been available through Mini Madness for a couple of weeks I thought we'd have some feedback by now. Is it an easy install? And to uninstall? Performance should be comparable to the Viper, but it will be louder.
I am hoping to get to the dyno next week to do the Cooper research - Green Filter and Carbon Dynamic Airbox from BMC. I'll let you know what the findings are ASAP!!
Here is the CDA that has yet to be installed:

Stay tuned...

Can't wait to see the results!!!
In the meantime, here's a dumb question--Why do a lot of these filters come with stickers that read:
"not for road use" "not for highway use"
"race use only" "road use illegal"
What do all these disclaimers mean, and why are they there??? What if I use it for everyday driving? What if I use it on the highway? What risks forces the manufacturers to put all these dislaimers? What's next..."not for use when engine is running"?
Sorry to be a pain in the ars (again), but I truly am just curious.

I'm interested too, but apparently Madness doesn't have the Green Twister Intake in-stock as of last week. I emailed them and their reply was the Twister wasn't available.
Wait another couple weeks.

Does anyone (read: 'Randy') have flow and/or Dyno results for any of these intakes yet? That BMC CDA would look really good on my Cooper, but i'm still curious about which one will unleash the most power ...
I took out the stock filter over the weekend and put this one on...got it from another MINI owner - testing it out at this point, posted on Saturday. Sounds very different from stock - nice engine rumble above 4000 RPM's. If I can get on the dyno at Helix next time they have an open house, might interesting to compare to my stock numbers. I'm running the Rogue Exhaust also.
