Which header and O2 simulator are you using?

The Cosmic Mini is... cat less at the moment. Mini Madness Header and O2 simulator.com simulator. When track season is up, we'll put the cat back on.

 

Maximusmini runs cat-less. He has an SPI aka Fireballed manifold and doesn't run an O2 simulator cuz their kit doesn't include one. He likes CEL's so it's all good.

His car also smells gross from being cat-less, FYI.

 

I'm running a MINI Mania Header with a Magnaflow cat. Its a hiflow and its been throwing codes, sooooo i did some research and came up with this...

Using some spark plug anti foulers apparently will give the same results as the overpriced O2 simulators.

I'll test it out this week and give my results at the end of the week.

 

Who is running Cat-Less?

Why does it smell bad? Do all pre-cat vehicles smell?

 

my friends mini that is catless smells too... im guessing its all the unburnt hydrocarbons that the cat would have converted...

 

My MCS was catless for a little while. I used the O2 simulator from O2simulator.com, it works flawlessly and is easy to install. The car is louuud without a cat...and its not really a good loud, kinda obnoxious...almost ricey. And yes, it does smell....i thought it smelt good though...especially with race fuel in it mmmmm!

 

I have a Mania prototype header. Knocked out the cat since it went bad not long after we got it. It doesn't smell bad... Just smells like a pre 70's car. Do you like the smell at classic car shows? I kinda like it . Mmm, the smell of power.

O, and no O2 sensor thingy...
