Are these sending units to tap into the stock sensor readouts?

If not, you could look at the Defi or AEM sensors and check whether they have the same voltage and resistance as the Autometer one.

Sorry I can't be much more help. but I suck at electronics

Electronic gauge sending units are not generic, you need Autometer with Autometer for the gauge to display properly. There is a bunch of INFO on gauge install over in Beneath the Bonnet.

thanks guys i didn't even consider compatibility. see madness punches 1/4" npt holes in their cooler adapter. but the gauges from autometer came with bigger size so i might have to try an ugly adapter.
