Another software option?

Has anyone ever heard of a company called "Heron"? www.heron.net
Sorry, the website is all in German. From the gain they claim, 210PS, it sounds like a pulley/software combo, but with the little German I know I didn't see a pulley mentioned. Any comments?

There is no pulley included in the description; the power gains are purportedly only from the 'chiptuning' although they offer other products such as exhausts, aifilters, suspension etc.

For the software, power increases 45bhp, torque 28Nm and top speed 10-15km/h, but you can probably glean that from the description anyway

It's TUV approved and has a warranty, and a further discount of 25% for cars over 3 years old is also on the table

I may be wrong, although I studied German for 4 years, so I would like to think that I am relatively adept at understanding German webpages.

HTH,

Henry

I looked again at the site and there is an icon in the top right corner to switch to English, although not all pages switch over. Nobody has ever heard of them?

It might be worthwhile to post this question on MINI2 - I think there is a greater likelihood of someone on that board knowing about this company.

Well, since I am german and I live in Germany I just had a look at the page.

You're right, they claim this power only by changing the software. But I do not believe this is possible, maybe they use an other pulley !

The company is not very know over here, but on the other hand they have quite some locations here in germany. Probably they do more other cars like Mercedes or Peugeot...

I'd say we should stay at tuners we know (what they do)...

I got in touch with one of their service shops yesterday. I was told that Heron is headed by 2 programmers that used to work for Digi-tec, but money issues caused them to leave and start their own company. I have heard good things about Digi-tec in the past but from what I gathered on the phone yesterday there is only one map for the MCS, which is supposed to work with stock cars up to mine, with CAI, 17%, header, and exhaust. I think I will look elsewhere, maybe Evotech. CarterMD, did you ever here about MK-Motorsport? They have a package close to mine and are willing to sell me just the software.

Yes, I know MK-Motorsport. They are not very big but seem to produce very well tuning. How much do they want to charge you for theire software ?

Yet, I do not know any Mini they have made. So you would be one of the first ones. Over here in Germany on our Mini-forum we most time use MTH. Some others use RMS (an austrian tuner) or ESR/Digi-Tec.

Some of us here do not trust any longer in DigiTec since there were some major damages to some minis. Also they seem to have some problems coping with problems other than the standard one (ie. to much boost, pinging).
