Then that qualifies as loud. Too loud for me.

I just installed the OBX headers. Less burble, but where it usually popped a couple times, i just get one big BANG of backfire.

When i put my foot down, i can't tell the difference from stock + oneball, until about 3800rpm when i get some nice zorst noise to match the Alta CAI. After 5k i can't hear anything but the SC.

I also had the exhaust place weld flanges onto the cat to make it interchangeable with the decat pipe that i also asked them to make ....

How much did they charge you for the de-cat pipe? And the install?

Is there anyone that can speak of the quality of the Megan and any issues/problems with the Header? I know there is one claim of the Flex Joint going bad, and several of the Resonator self-destructing. Any problems with the bolts holes lining up?

well this was an interesting story

the guy had never done a mini before, so the poor bugger didn't know what to charge, and he quoted me AUD155 (USD116) to fit supplied headers, weld pipe and flange onto a cat to make it removable, and fabricate a decat pipe with two flanges. he was so angry cos it took him over 5 hours, and he kept shaking his head and repeating that it should have cost at least AUD250 (USD190) and that he lost out on it lol, and now he knows what to charge.....haha bad luck for him.....

Not very many people seem to be using the Madness Header. Why is that? Price? It comes with a metallic cat which is nice.

I'm curious about this too. I love the fact that you can swap a pipe in there to replace the cat when you go to the track, which apparently burns cats with regularity!

I read the madness header is to die for thread; are those the only ones running it?

Anyone else with the madness header? V2?

Have you looked at the Stahl at Precision Mini? It's the best header I've seen for the Mini. Worth a look.......

I know SpiderX tried one and MSFITOY has one on order. If they don't post drop them a PM.

EDIT here are SpiderX comments from another thread "We did put the Megan on temporarily while waiting for the Milltek to come back...... the Megan worked fine but we went back to the Milltek to try to maintain some continuity...... the collector got high marks from Dave at DDM and he liked it better than the Milltek we took off......"

Just my .02. It looks like the Megan is going on as part of my 'fix a supercharger project.'

Thanks Dave at DDM. Thanks to SpiderX for all the contributions you have made to the world of MINI modding!

does anyone here know if the megan header will bolt right up to an aftermarket exhaust such as a borla? by bolt right up i mean with the test pipe on the header.obviously a muffler shop would do the rest if i wanted to go with a highflow cat. what i am trying to acheive is a header where i can swap the test pipe and a bolt on cat whenever i liked. thanks

I don't think you will be disapointed. Too bad it's so late in the season, I'd be interested in your results. Also, need to get down there for a talk.....

I have hamann header for about 50k kms. It has no flexi joints but some springs in the connection. I didn't have any problems yet. And I am very happy with it.
I have the off road use type and not using a cat. I have a small silencer for my track days and wouvvv the coins in the car vibrates with the sound
