Dinan... yet another question

Ok guys, currently I have the Dinan S1 package minus the software. Apparently Dinan does not have software for my very late 05 build date (basically an 06 from what the dealer tells me, but still a LY MCS ) . I have been in "talks" ( ) with Dinan for almost a year now, since I bought the car, and it's always the same answer.... we'll have it done next week, or the software guys are working on it as we speak. The common PR answer to satisfy my needs at the time . I am about to give up on these people (for sotware at least).

My Question is this: Do you guys see any problem with using alternative software (particulary UNICHIP) to accomplish about the same task as Dinan's? Any major Con's to this? I understand that there may be a loss of performance comparitivaly speaking unless I get a custom map via dyno with Unichip. but overall, I would assume if Unichip says they have a standard map for a Alta CAI and a Miltek Cat-back, it would be comperable to my Dinan CIA and Dinan Exhaust. Am I wrong to assume?

Also, anyone try Unichip's FLUX Power Display yet? It looks sweet.

Side note, spell check would not work on here and I am an engineer.... sorry for the bad spelling if any.

actually the software is available from dinan. You need to call dinan and tell them to ship out a new chip to the dealership. The NEW SOFTWARE DOES EXIST.

Tried a few weeks ago and the dealership had "the right chip", no luck. The point is, I'm a bit fed up with Dinan software.

I had the same problem.....went in because they had the "right chip" and it still didn't work. I ended up leaving my car there for 5 days untill Dinan sent a special chip for my car that worked.
The software seems to change the throttle response. Much smoother now.
It completes the package nicely.
