So last week, while I was installing a DT BPV , I refit my cai to try to gain a bit more clearance....still didn't fit! So, I loosened the bolts that hold the STB onto the shock towers and adjusted the mounting plates the little bit that I could. Still no go! Finally I decided not to use the bolt that holds the box top down and I flattened out the crease in the top a little bit. This fits, but it has nowhere near the clearance that I've seen in pictures. In fact, the bolts on the STB still touch the box top a little bit.

Anybody else run into this problem?
Nope, mine fits great! M7 Stress bar and Alta Box top.

I'm grasping at straws to help.
I thought the same thing, so when I reinstalled the cai this past weekend I made sure that everything was tight.

I did some searching yesterday and found the post where you said that you had to remove the bolt on the right side of the cai. I have the same problem but was able to get it on. This weekend I'm either going to undo the bolt or cut a circle out of the cai where it presses against the master cylinder (like the HDI has).

BTW, when you got the prototype box top from Alta you mentioned that it didn't fit flush all the way around. Mine did fit flush, that is until I flattened it out a bit to gain a bit more clearance. This leads me to believe that your box top had a little less of a bend in it when you received it.

This occured because I installed the top with the front lip inside of the box rather then on top. Also I needed to push the box top back a tad. It now sits flush and I don't use the bracket and bolt to secure it. It sits just fine.

Here is what I did, I removed the weak **** welded nut off the bracket and used a black body clip. Soo much easier to deal with...
