You can add this to the list:
Comptech Race Header with Cat from Seven Enterprises
2.5" Collector
I had it on mine for a while, a little too loud for me, felt a little power increase above 6k.

Mini Sport have a header <click the link> they label SE Engineering.

Mini Spares <click the link> sell a 4-2-1 that looks a lot like the Ultrik header Mini Mania used to sell.

Found the Ultrik header on the Mini Makia UK site <click the link>. Note the "slight" similarity to the Mini Spares pic.....I guess you could call this one Ultrik (Mini Mania (UK), Mini Spares)?

The Comptech Race Header also looks like it is "slightly" similar...

I saw on a German forum that the London Stainless/ Quicksilver header is the one that MTH sells. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Has anyone heard of Vibrant before?

4-2-1, TIG welded, with a metal core cat. I emailed them about primary and outlet sizes, etc, etc. I will post when I hear back.

I'd give up my Megan for that DUZ! WooHoo, you'd have to park over mirrors or a glass floor over a basement or something, just to look at that puppy and show it to friends... $2000 --- who cares, sign me up!

I think the Saclam and the JCG are the most unique. The Scalam for it's equal length primary shapes and the two flex joints and the JCG for being the only one to truely relocate the CAT and make more room for longer primaries and secondaries. The JCG header looks like it should be a torque monster at the possible expense of some top end power as I believe it has a 2.25" exit but really long primaries.

Some headers have very short flex joints and I can't believe that's a good thing. I question the location of the JCG flex joint but it's very long, so it's probably better than those that are very short but maybe better located. The JCG also gives you longer wiring, to connect to the relocated 02 sensors.

Something else I think is bad design, is a flex joint that is connected directly to the CAT, as there is no room for the air flow to smooth out, from one component to the next. Not the same but that's sort of like having back to back tight turns in the exhaust pipe, an unwelcome restriction.

So who has the Megan Racing Header?

How can it possibly be that inexpensive? Were any corners cut in production of their Headers?

Most other headers listed are in the $800 and up range.

It seems like the Megan header price is TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!

Chime in!

I got some return emails today. First, the Vibrant header has been discontinued. And Janspeed emailed me with these facts:

Janspeed header: 1 5/8 primaries, 2 1/4 outlet, 200 cell cat, MIG welded, 1.5mm tubing.

Gtt header: 1 1/2 primaries, 2 1/2 outlet, 120 cell cat, TIG welded, 1.2mm tubing.

How much better is TIG welding? Is it overkill? I am writing to see if I could get the Janspeed header with the GTT cat. I will post when I hear something.

Tig v Mig, one is not better than the other, it's the application of each that makes the difference. For a header, a tig will produce less spatter, better build up and welds that require less clean up ( if any ), making it the clear choice for SS. There are plenty of headers that are production built with a Mig that are very good, but they are not SS. Bottom line, any SS exhaust would be best built with a Tig, IMHO. Steel is another story, the Mig rules.

YEP i wanna know too.... why o why is it ..... COULD THIS REALLY BE the 1 company that cares about the buyers, consumers, who are so looking after there money with all these high oil prices an such, that they are playing Santa Claus and feel bad if they ask to much for it.... hmm.... NO......

i think it is all about the details... but i am surely tempted.... heard from another guy the megan resonator (cat replacement pipe) blows up after couple of runs.... is this true... i dunno....... so looking for people who want to share theres.....i know Gandini and some other dude has fitted them and had some fitments issues......

Deny. A simple glance at the picture or reading of the specs will dispell this myth. Look at the cat! The MTH header is made in Germany to the highest standards. How many other headers satisfy the strict EURO-4 standards and are TÜV certificatied?

***I only have 4 unsold headers from my last order from MTH-Germany. So if you would like one please let me know.

I'm looking to ceramic coat mine.

What a crime that'd be with this one.

I've heard that the OBX header has some subtle differences to the SuperSprint header. Are these differences major, and is the performance of the two headers different? Does the SuperSprint make more power than the OBX?

I have a question - when running the straight pipe in place of the cat during race applications, how are people getting around the O2 sensor issue? I understand there are simulators available, but who sells them?
Cheers.

The silvery dust could be the cat breaking down.
