There was a MINI DYNO DAY at Dynamic Racing Solutions in La Habra (socal)this morning. My 05S, 15% pulley, MTH tuner file, STOCK AIRBOX w/K&N filter, did 168.7 hp, 157.6 max torque in 85 degree heat. Very nice shop and good guys!

Do you by any chance have a dyno result for the 15% pulley alone (or, without the MTH tuner file)? I am curious to see the contribution of the pulley in isolation. Also, were you running the wonderful California 91 octane pisswater?

yess on fuel-no on other tests

although i had wanted to do a step by step, life has not worked out so this is the first test. next is a wms hdi, so we will see what that actually does for it next time. fuel was shell 91, drove 75 miles to the place, car cooled off withhood open for 35 minutes or so.

Dynojet dyno, Mustang, DynoDynamics?

Pretty good if it was on a dynojet, AWESOME if it was the other 2.

Noticed your hood liner was missing. Any specific reason?

It is always interesting when you get a group of cars together for a group dyno day, especially Minis . The numbers sometimes are all over the place with cars that look similar with regards to mods . Some of these results look to be interesting and I was wondering if any of the owners or others in the know might be able to fill us in with a bit more detail ?

Lex with a 178.8 and just a cai and pulley. What percentage pulley was that? nice number.

Tamoosh with a 173.6 but a 108 DB. What exhaust was that ?

Steve with a 176 and similar mods to tamoosh but 101 db. 3 more hp but 7 db quieter? Exhaust?

The next two are very interesting both with the same pulley arrangement 15 + 2 but much lower in Hp that most of the rest of the modded cars .
Eric 158.6 with a DB of 99 , it is a auto though so maby that has a bit to do with it I am not sure.
Craig 159.6 but a ear shattering ,I would think, 114 Db. Was that an exhaust or straight pipe?

Chip and nick threw down 177 and 172 respectively with only 15% pullys and CAI / Exhaust.

Keith why the unhappy face ? if you factor in 12% drive train loss you come in at 170 at the crank very respectable for a stock car.

I also find that mike with a 15% pulley pulling 3 more hp than Dave S a JCW car also with a 15% pulley
interesting as well.

In any event much data for the camp fire bench racing I would think . Thanks for posting and if anyone can fill in some of the details it would be appreciated .

Craig had Webb's new exhaust on his car without the electric bypass valve.

You can imagine what it would sound like with the valve installed and open

I have an Alta 15% pulley and Alta CAI. I was the only one who tested in 4th gear. I also was testing with a homemade CAI insulation mod (VBG's HAI insulation).

Tamoosh with a 173.6 but a 108 DB. What exhaust was that ?
Tamoosh who was after me, did the first two pulls in 4th but his numbers were in the mid 160hps so they decided to begin testing in 3rd gear. He redid the test later on that's when he posted the 173.6. He has MTH and a Borla exhaust.

Steve with a 176 and similar mods to tamoosh but 101 db. 3 more hp but 7 db quieter? Exhaust?
Steve didn't have MTH...and he also had the stock exhaust - that's why his db levels were low.

The next two are very interesting both with the same pulley arrangement 15 + 2 but much lower in Hp that most of the rest of the modded cars .

Erik's MINI was a MCSC automatic, while Craig has a 02 MCS. Craig has a WMS exhaust...he won for the loudest exhaust.

Chip and nick threw down 177 and 172 respectively with only 15% pullys and CAI / Exhaust.
Both 06 MINIs....Chip had just installed the M7 exhaust, while Nick had the millitek exhaust. Both I believe still have their s-lites and runflats.

Keith why the unhappy face ? if you factor in 12% drive train loss you come in at 170 at the crank very respectable for a stock car.
Keith is very proud of his stock MCS.

I also find that mike with a 15% pulley pulling 3 more hp than Dave S a JCW car also with a 15% pulley
interesting as well.
Mike has Heather Locklear's former 04 MCS. Most of the JCW results were surprising as they were lower than the other aftermarket modded MINIs.

Thanks man that really adds a lot more to the picture.

There was one car that put down a nice number with apparently only a 15 % pulley,M7 exhaust and alta cai, Chip at 177 hp. Too bad the battery in the DB meter died how did it sound?

George with the 03 and 171 to the wheels with only a 15% and the one ball did a good job as well. It must have been that glove box organizer

Again thanks for the info , looks like it was a great day.
