GruppeM intake install (pics)
Well...I did it after 2 days of calls from my tuner to do it........So far I am impressed. It seems to make the throttle (stomping on the gas to 6K rpm) snappy.....and it does howl too. And seems to make the exhaust (Kellerners and Supersprint) a bit deeper tone. WOW!. Pics below.....

What are you using for a filter and do you have anything insulating the CF? How prone is it to heatsoak? Any reason for not taking the CF all the way to the TB and smoothing out the airflow in the same way silicone tube would? Hope it pulls in the numbers you're looking for, ethier way it sure does look nice.

Maddness cowl mod? Cowl plate used in the madness system, or holes screwed in the stock box or something completely different?
I'm assuming the K&N is cone not panel. Do you have #s on the heat getting in or out of the box, I know gold is the best heat deflector, and the metal used by many kinda stinks at making sure cold air is always whats in the box, I've heard CF isn't the best, but I don't know how it compares to metal, plastic or some of the other custom insulated intakes that some members (including myself) have ventured into.
Also do you find you get the majority of the air from the cowl or from the grille, does that 90 degree bend hurd prefirmance or is the diameter large enough to negate restriction in airflow?
Please don't take this the wrong way, I think it looks cool and I'm interested (even though I may never get the chance to put 1k into an intake) I still like to hear about the functionallity and evolution of these types of aftermarket and one off products, plus it looks awsome.
Oh yeah all this CF, how much does it weigh? Did you keep the stock bottom or fabricate that part as well?
