Hey all,

Ok, I finally put the 15% pully on the car - I know, I know - I waited tooooo long ( 36K miles ). Now that I have the pully - what program are you all running - stock, JCW, MTH, ??????

The dealer can do the JCW reflash, or I can go MTH, or my local tuner can do a custom re-flash????

What about unichip? or the shark injectors??

Just trying not to waste a bunch of $$ on programs that don't work!!


The car is a 04 MCS ( 1/04 build ) - Dinan intake, 15% pulley, stock exhaust ( for now ).

You can run the stock software and won't harm a thing. I am running the stock software. Although you can gain some by going aftermarket. Its all up to who says what and your preference.

you don't NEED to upgrade your ECU, the stock programming does a pretty good job to adapting to most mods......but......since it looks like you are in Mesa, I would assume Mynes Performance would do your custom tune/flash. I've heard nothing but great things about Mynes, the ecu reflash package they list on their site looks pretty impressive and they can dynotune for you as well.

 

I was running the stock program w/ Magnaflow, CAI, 15% pulley and 2% crank pulley. The MTH tuner was the last performance mod I have done and I have been impressed thus far. . Do a search. You will find lots of information....and likely still not know which one is the "best".

 

Stock programming is just fine. I notice you're from Mesa...a fellow Phoenician! If you come up to Scottsdale...DynoComp can do the EvoTech software, and although I don't have it, it's the only software that I would consider getting.

 

I know they say its not necessary to do ECU programming with those mods... but its a good way to optimize what you have. Fine tune the ECU for better response and AFR will give you better driveability and a bit more power...
I plan on going with GIAC in the near future.. similar mods to yours... Good luck.. let us know what you decide..

 

I'm very happy with GAIC ECU flash I got in Tempe, AZ at Evolution Motorsports. Helix helped GIAC tune this for the Mini with 15 or 19% pulleys.
