All M7 Pulley Users

I am highly considering doing both the M7 16% pulley and the M7 crank pulley and I wanted to hear feedback from people who have both....how do you like it? What intake are you using? And any other feedback you can give me on it before I make the plunge. I am considering the M7 intake, but because of its costs and how loud it seems to be (I only say seems, because I have never heard it in person), I might just end up with the WMS hdi box. So yah....lets chat!

I have both [on my Cosworth Stage 2+ car]. The pulleys are great- fit and performance are everything that I expected. The AGS is really not that loud from in the cockpit because of the heatshield [it's louder in front than inside]. I think it's actually quieter than the Alta, though I haven't had an Alta on in my car [only others' cars]... Anyways, I personally really want the upcoming v3 , if that's any indication. PM me any specific questions you might have.

What he said !!!!!!!!!!

I have had both since the day they were first designed.

Both have endured 100 degree heat on several track days with no problems at all.

I have the V3 version of the AGS and it is great. As mentioned above, the sound in the cockpit is pretty quiet. I had an Alta before the AGS and it was quite a bit louder than the M7 inside the car. Outside is another story.

Check out my list of mods below, and PM me if you have any further questions.

Bill

Last year I was tracking with a 15% blower pulley and a 3% crank. Was a great combo with no problems at all.
This year I will be running the M7 blower pulley and the M7 crank pulley in my race mini. I have 100% confidence with this combination.

The m7 16% is awesome. It kicks the boost from 10.5 stock to 15 or 16psi.. It also adds a nice amount of power and TQ. I was going to go with the crank pulley also, but its hard to get to so i said forget it. I am going to get the AGS instead. I do all the work my self soo if its to hard then i don't do it. Hope that helps. Spike

all pulleys...

are pretty much the same, you can't go too wrong with any of them. If your worried about the belt wearing out too soon, get a 15 or 16 percent pulley with a crank pulley. (i've had the 19 for many thousands of miles without issues) If you dont know how reliable the pulley mod is, or just want to spend a bit less to install the pulley, get the 19 percent pulley. The intake are all pretty much the same as well! give or take 2-3 horsepower. To install the AGS, you need to remove your bumper, remove the intake duct, and the throttle body, then add RTV to the seals so it doesnt leak and put everything back together.
far be it from me to give the end all to this, but i just got the HAI and spent the money i saved on other things that would give more horsepower. Thats one mini lover opinion to another! Good luck and let me know how it goes!

That adding RTV has been fixed with this unit now. I am pretty sure they fixed that problem. As for installing, it really depends on how the person is with tools. I think it will take from 3 hours to 7 hours. Something like that. I am not sure, cause i have never done an install on the AGS. Once i get it on i will let you know. More than likely i will strip it friday and have it as a weekend job. No rush, just get it on nicely and make it look clean. I will probably work on it all friady night or something... Get some music and some drinks and go at it. Good luck to you on the pulley. I went with the M7 and it made a really nice difference. I didn't do the 2% crank cause you have to pull off the harmonic balancer... Soo i said forget it... Good Luck Spike

Also if your interested in black out tape let me know. I sell it for the mini's... You know that chrome strip around the windows, it covers that. My mini is all backed out... I hate CHROME... Thanks Spike

I really like the idea of the HAI but does it really make good power? If it makes some decent power like 4-6 hp Im on it! but if it only makes like 1-2 hp Id rather spend the money for a normal intake. BTW, I have read the HAI threads and it seems that no one really talks about the actual numbers....I hope some one gets it dynod soon!

The HAI..

has been dynoed before. Honestly, i've seen so many threads on this i dont remember where it was. It was pretty close to the more expensive ones, maybe off by 5% or something like that.

M7 goodies

Hey Mike. I have a 06 . I was running a19%. Beofre I don't like just for the Fact. Itsa was great out of the Way. But Fell off on top end.

That was the The alta. I now have a 16% M7 from pepter. The disn is great 1st of all
1. It lets you retain your stock oem drive belt, where as a 19% had to go to a larger belt since the pullley was smaller.
2. The M7 pulley has built little venturi's to cool the belt and the pulley its self.

3. I run bigger injectors remapped ecu,and alta intake. I will do the AGS when I go out of Warr.
4. I am not running the Crank pullet. Since the 06 pulleys are lighter than its previous yrs pulley. thats why Alot of Mini owner Repl them.
I'm sure it makes a difference. But I want to just get used to my power incease I have @ the present moment.

I dyno my Mini earlier this Yr. With the Mods I got 192 HP.

I hope some of this info has help you decide.

Guido out!

Like INGSOC, I also have both pullies on my Cosworth car -- along with the V3 AGS. You can see my complete build list here, https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...highlight=club
posted by MAXMINI. The pic below is shows the CF cover over the AGS V3 on the right. Can't really give you a pre-post comparison as I did not add mods incrementally. But I will say that the combination creates a synergy that beats my '06 M3 in the corners on any road or track. As for the sound of the AGS, you likely either like the sound or you don't. As a former F1 driver said, "It sounds like a Formula Atlantic car with front wheel drive."
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=69420
Since that sound scares dogs and small children as you come up on them, you have to decide if the performance is work the side effects Not really a decision for me!

So can you hear and talk in a Coswirth quipped M7? I'm thinking of going for essentially the equivalent of the stage 2 end of the month (plus a couple of other goodies Like USS and DFIC) but want to able to hear inside the car... Can you?

I'm planning a trip in a couple of weeks to visit Peter and Co at M7 and see for myself but any insight from you guys and gals would be apprectiated!

The only thing that will affect your ability to hear and talk in an M7 Cosworth car is your choice of exhaust systems.

Nothing going on in the engine compartment will bother you.

i am pretty sure they will ship to the UK as long as you pay for the shipping cost... You will be happy with that AGS V3.. its NASTY sounding.. i can't wait to receive it... Its killing me waiting soo long.. Its going to be loud... you will hear it thats for sure over any exhaust as long as its not straight pipe all the way back... good luck man... Spike

Not to sound like an advertisement, but you might want to try DHL. They have given me good service in the past.

onasled - Q please, did you run a different sized belt and did you have to lower your car's redline with your original combo? Thanks in advance
