JCW cat back question

Question for all of you JCW exhaust experts.

I would like to buy a used JCW cat-back system from a buddy in my MINI club. He has a 2003 MCS and I have a 2004 MCS.

When I went to the JCW website:
http://www.johncooper.co.uk/JohnCooperSite/category/Motorsport%5FExhaust+Kits/

I discovered there are two different kits depending on the year of the MCS.

Part numbers JCM506A and JCM506B.

What is the difference?

Is it something I could tweak with a hammer/torch/welder?

Is it some small inexpensive part I could purchase separately?

Thanks in advance for all of your help!

The difference has nothing to do with JCW, per se, but rather the change in exhaust hangers that was made 1/04. Just check in your door for your build. If its pre 1/04, your good to go. If not, your not.

Yeah probably, I believe people have fabricated or had hangar changes made, probably welded, to fit.

Right, the 2 inner hangers point towards the inner part of the car rather then rearward.

The difference is the inboard hangers, the ones for '03 and earlier are parallel with the outboard hangers while the ones on '04 and later are perpindicular. I had an '03 exhaust installed on my '04 with no problems, I just didn't use the inboard hangers.

You could have the hangers rotated on the exhaust if you wanted to but it shouldn't be necessary.
