Drivetrain Air suspension for adjustable ground clearance?

Wondering if anyone knows about the practicality (and cost) of installing some manner of pneumatic suspension on the MINI that would allow you to increase the ground clearance when necessary -- as when on county lanes with deep ruts and a high crown. I recall this handy feature on Citroens from the 60's and 70's -- and on low-riders in East L.A.
