I had to "modify" a gear puller to get it off.

heating it up while pulling off makes it a bit easier.

What about the oil temperature? Charge-air temperature? Does DME reduce Power due to high charge-air temperature?
On what track can you stay at 145 MPH for 15 minutes? Oval Nascar tracks?

What track you can do it on doesn't matter because our cars don't even hit 145. Their limited at 138 so unless you have software that lifts the speed governor, you won't have that problem . Also, at that speed the amount of air going through intercooler makes it more efficient than at lower speeds at the same rpm. The 19% performs fine on the street, just don't take it to a track without spare belts.

EDIT: Why would you want to be at 145 for 15 minutes anyways?

I know, I've waited an awefully long time, but I've had so much fun with the car up to know, and I think it's time to see what she's made of. I'll report once I get it put on. Aha! Pulley just came in today, so like I said, it should be on this weekend

you'll be hard pressed to get 145... eventually, but it wont be quick. i know its nit picking, but the limiter is at 134 for the us mini cooper S

Then explain why I had my speedometer pinned at 137-138?

Not discounting your personal experience but your 138 is really 134. BMW speedos are notorious for giving higher readings on the speedo than the actual speed. Especially at higher speed. If you havent had any ecu work done to your car, it will peg at its 134 speed limiter, for its real speed.

True, I forget that speedo's are always off a small percentage. Either way, the question at hand is, why would you be pinned at the 134 speed limiter for 15 minutes?

Because you're waiting for 150!! Zing!

I have no idea. I guess it was a hypothetical situation.

I agree with it too. I also have smaller tires so that will automatically make the speedo have a faster speed even if it was 100% accurate. But... others don't need to know that, hehe...

02///MCS, how do you like your 19% pulley? Mine's going on tomorrow at the Chicago Pulley Party along with the HDI intake. Have you dyno'd you car yet? Ran it against other cars at the "track"?

I managed to drop 7 tenths of a second off at the strip with the car after the 19% pulley.

14.8 @ 96mph! Im a happy camper for now. Now i need some slicks, i cant launce at anything over 2 grand, they tires just light up.

want-a-mini, I LOVE my 19%er. The amount of power it gives is absolutely amazing... I mean, it's a HUGE difference... I haven't dyno'ed yet because well, I just don't care right now, I feel the difference in power enough that I don't need no stinkin' numbers lol... Yea I've run a few cars at the "track"... I've beaten a stock G35 Coupe 5AT, 180whp Civic Si, RSX-S (intake, exhaust), stock and modded VW GTi's, actually beat a 330Ci performance package and a few others... Yeah, it's pretty quick... I'm taking her to the strip in August, can't wait!

not-so-rednwhitecooper, you launch at only 2k!?!!?!! What tires do you have? You've never tried 3k or 4k?? My tires are bald so I don't even race off the line lol

I have Fulda's on my car now. They are pretty soft, ive been playing with tire pressures lately. If i launce at anything over like .... maybey 3, its either gonna bounce the front end like hell or just smoke them past the 60 foot.

Ive tried all the way up to a 6 grand launce, and at 2-3k its a perfect launch.

My 60 foot times reflect it, they are around 2.3's.

Hmm thanks for the input.. I gotta know these things so I don't look like a fool launching my car at 4k and smoking my tires down the strip... What do you usually launch at? 2k flat?

there is no mechanical or electronic limiter on MINI's...its all aerodynamical vs power....more power the faster you can go...hence the TC guys going 150+...try it out..next time you dyno your car have them dyno in 5th, they will top out 5th at i think over 150..

other question, why would you want to have a car with more than 100 bhp ???

It is nice to see the annoyd face of Mercedes S-Class drivers, when they're loosing the faith to their heavy expensive car.

I notice that the oil is getting quite hot (I am running a 15% pulley). Others over here with even smaller pulleys have installed additional oilcoolers ...

right !

just the analog speedometer does stop at 240 km/h just don't know the MPH. The digital speedometer is going further....
For exact speed readings why don't use gps?

Hmm idk, I had my car in 5th for a while and I even bounced redline. Car didn't pass 135 or so (on the speedo). Shifted into 6th and the car sped up a small bit (to about 138). But I still had another 1500rpm or so before redline. I even had it at WOT in 6th for a while (I was trying to catch up to a modded CLS55, he kept pulling) and the RPM's maintained at about 5,000ish I think, I can't remember exactly. I think the MCS's tranny gives out at 160ish...
