Why is everybody (well, not everybody...) talking about the MC RS? There is no such thing.

There is a picture out there ont he Web of a race-prepared MC with an M3 engine and RWD, and JCW.

The JCW is the JCW. The race prepared MC is a one-off.

There is NO talk of an AWD MINI form anyone that knows.

I have not seen any notice from MINI on an RS. If it comes it will, if not, dream on.

The only place I saw the RS mentioned was in a short article in one of the auto magazines several months ago. So...who knows??

I have contacts in the media that have quality information of a MINI Cooper RS coming soon, perhaps a late intro MY04. My dealership has also been briefed by BMW that an RS model will be released soon too.

Some of the details include:
*More than 200HP, closer to 220HP
*AWD, which is logical, with the MINI's center tunnel, and 3-series-based rear suspension.

This is all that's "set" that I know for now.

Motor-On!
Ryan

Oh, BTW, MINI is also talking of plans of a wagon and pickup truck versions

Yes, the ole' NDA may be the overall culprit in us trying to quench our RS thirst!

Only time will tell, yes indeed

Cheers,
Ryan

There is no point for BMW to release the RS soon unless it is for homologation reasons if they want to race a special version; like a rally version.

They are already selling as many S's that they can make and now there is the JCW and the convertible is coming soon. They'll want to milk the current models as long as possible before introducing something like an RS which will appeal to fewer people than the other models they are making. Financially, it makes no sense to release it "soon".

I won't believe it until it starts showing up in the media .
