19% or 17% + 2% crank pulley?

Which is the better way to go 19% sc or 2% cp + 17% sc pulley? I just got this damn car and am already losing it in my hunt for more rev. I have an 03' JCW MCS without the upgrade kit. The only mods I have are a CAI. Is there something for less $$$ that would give me better results? Lighter wheels are in the future, buutt mmuusst wwaaiitt...I need some sleep...please help...Nikki

PS. I love this NAM s$#@; this is too fun.

If you feel safe with the 2% crank pulley then 17+2+ appropriate sized alternator pulley + ECU upgrade + upgraded injectors.

hence why i recommended the 19%, i personally wouldn't feel safe with the undamped CP.

I'd personally go 19%, GIAC, and JCW 380cc injectors

+1

If you believe that crank pullies are fine for our cars, go with the 17/2. If not, go with the 19%.

So, say I do believe in lightened crank pullies for our cars Which I do not know too much about Yet...I think that is the general consenus from what I gather. (I just think it would be cool just to feel the lightened CP and the extra boost could'nt hurt either). If I went to the 17% + 2% I would need the shorter (matched) belt right? And do you think the ECU upgrade and injectors would also be needed?...right now... to have more fun, now. Remember, I have an 03' without the upgrade kit.
Would this set up give me noticeable rev gains for my booty dyno over the stock JCW set up or what?
I ordered my Goodyear F1 gs-d3's today; I cant wait. Run flats..bye bye. Tire Rack is hookin' it up right now on them. Nikki:impatient

You can run the 17/2% combo without any software or injectors. However, in order to get as much as you can, you'll need the injectors and software. You will definitely need a new 17% belt though.

A 17/2 will have more whp than a 19 by itself.

You'll have significantly more torque than a stock MCS. I've never ridden in a JCW so I couldn't comment.

What about this mess of changing the alternator pulley also? And do you really think it would not be a good idea to take it to the track? If this set up gets more rev than my 14whatever% jcw pulley and stock 7 lb CP I have now, I might have to be all over it. I mean this should make a huge difference right? But alas it is a daily commuter and would not want huge issues with reliablity, or at the track problems. My problem is is that I have to tune in stages, for reasons both finacially and matrimonial. It sounds like this would feed my binge and make me high...until I can afford to hit up the dopeman again for the GIAC and 380cc's right? Thanks for the help

I've had a light crank pulley for a year and a half. First it was with 19% + jcw injectors + GIAC, now with TurboKompressor. My Mini has seen a couple of track days and ~15 autocross events since the addition of the crank pulley all without a lick of trouble. It's also my daily driver.

Unless you're Bill Gates do the upgrades in stages. Do 17% + 2% now (you will enjoy it) add software later. The GIAC is based on JCW injectors, so you're good there.

My $0.02

Don't mean to sound ignorant, but can I ask how come? I'm also looking to purchase a supercharger pulley in the future, and I do plan on using my car for autocross/track schools, so is the 19% just not safe for that? Should I stick with the 15%?

Depends on what school of thought you subscribe to. If you trust Helix, it won't matter. If you trust Webb, you'll go 15% regardless of use.
