** Milltek Group Buy **

I'm not sure how to go about this, but there seems to be a lot of interest in the Milltek Cat-back, myself included, so I was wondering if this might not be a great opportunity for a group buy!

Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll try to set something up. Advice from those who've done this will be appreciated!

Richard

Let me try to dig up a number for Milltek and start sniffing around. Retail seems to be about $690.00

Give me a call I just posted on the non S also. I've already got 3 on order so we can get a big group.

I must have replied to the 'non-s' thread... either way, I'm in as well... '05 MCS. Info on price would be helpful. Thanks.

Milltek Group Buy Prices!!!

After some preliminary phone calls, here's what I have.

If there are at least four or five of us, I can get the Milltek cat-back exhaust at a wholesale price of $599.00. This price is delivered to Helix in Philadelphia. If you want Eric to work his magic on your Mini as he has for so many, the installation will be one hour of labor and there will be no further shipping charge. (I'm not sure about tax, but I'm assuming that we'll need to pay it.)

If you want the exhaust shipped back out to you, Eric at Helix handle this for whatever the standard rate is to your area.

As this is a group buy, it is my job to coordinate the details and to make sure that all funds for equipment that is not going to be installed at Helix are tendered and available.

Right now, there are no Milltek's available at the distributor here in the US. Eric has four on order and they should be available within two weeks. (One of them has my name on it. :-)

Let me know your thoughts,

hopper

Should I change out my JCW exhaust for a Milltek?
What about the header too?
I am interested in a throaty-er sound and a few more hp wouldn't hurt either!

I would highly suggest the Milltek headers along with the Milltek or JCW exhaust if you are looking for a throaty-er sound. The Milltek with stock headers sounds nice and you can tell a difference from stock but with the headers added it is an awesome throaty-er sound.

Why not go with Way on his group buy? He already has a few on order, plus, he is a great guy, very knowledgable and I'm sure, that he will "do eveyone right". He did me right.

Way is a great guy, we spoke earlier on the phone. If I'd known that he had something started I would have certainly just joined up! As it is, I guess the best way to handle it is to go with Way if you're closer to him and with Helix if you're closer to the East coast.

** Shipping Information **

To calculate shipping to your zipcode, go to www.dhl.com Select, get rates. Use 19125 for the "From" zipcode. Use 4'x4'x1' for the package size. Use 45lbs for the weight. Select "Residential delivery." On the second page with the rate quotes, put in the retail value of $695.

Eric cannot answer when the exhausts will be available. He has some on order now, but does not know when additional exhaust systems will be available from Milltek. As soon as we are ready, he will place the order.

If you are not going to Helix for the install, you will need to plan to send the funds to me and I will pay Helix. This keeps Eric out of the middle and from having to sort out a group buy.

I hope this helps answer most of the questions out there,

Richard

Again, though I'd like to help, this group buy is about the Milltek cat-back only.

Thanks,

Richard

The shipping info from DHL does not allow ground shipping for the dimensions you posted. So it lists $168 to ship to Charlotte NC... I don't think so...
You need to enter the dimensions in inches.. try it and see...
We also don't get the same rate as Helix because we are not a business with an account. So those of us who will need the unit shipped will have to work this out with Helix somehow... Just a heads up..

Guys, $35 sounds about right. I can't find where it says to provide the dimensions in inches and 25lbs would be a little on the heavy side for a 4"x4"x1" box, so I'm thinking it converts it to feet.

A simple call to DHL would probably clear this up.

How long do these group buys typically take from beginning to delivery? The Milltek is the exhaust I want (nay, need), but it'd be hard to justify it right now, both money-wise and for the fact that I don't even have the car yet.

All in due time - group buys work best when more people participate, but there's no need to rush. If you miss this group buy, there will be another down the road (or if you're in a hurry, you can form your own).

This group buy seems to be moving along quite quickly, but don't fret if you miss the boat, because there will be a next one.
