19% Reduction Pulley

I just bought a 19% pulley and I plan on installing it myself. Does any body have any tips? I am kinda nervous...so anything would help. What do I need besides:

Tools
Belt/Pulley
Pulley Removal tool

Is there a how to for the automatic?

I see you have the auto, which will make the install quite a bit more challenging. You will need to remove the wheel liner on the pax side to remove the motor mount. That will allow you to work on the belt tensioner and have some room, because the auto is closer to the unibody than the manual. You will also need to remove the bolts for the fuse box and remove the trans mount bolts to raise the motor, since the gearbox is much larger. You will also need to remove the power steering fan shroud, and the two mounting bolts for the fan as the lower mount is reversed on the auto.

Hope that is a good start. Take a look at our forum for a how-to.

Hope that helps!
Randy

I see that the how to is for a manuel. That really stinks that there is that much more work for the auto...

Randy's how to is good. I followed it and didn't have any problems. Minor issues with pulling the pulley off. If you follow Randy's suggested changes for the auto, you should be fine.

It is a bit scary jacking up the motor from the oil pan though. Eek!

qwertmoneky do you plan to do the other mods which usually accompany the 19? Like Injectors and a some kind of ecu remap.

Don't forget the loctite for the SC bolts.

Injectors and ECU remap are not required...
