Hi Guys, and gals too..I just registered the other nite and this is my very first post! I would like to say hello to all the Mini fans! Oh,by the way,my name is Garry and I am lining up my ducks in a row getting ready to buy a Copper S or possibly an RS If it's really coming out soon, cant seem to find any good info yet on RS.I did test drive an S and it's definatley a fantastik little automobile...I was gentle with it just trying to get a feel for it and my only complaint...just wished it pulled a little harder and I honestly thought this thing would be a little faster, but hey, lots of folks working on that and could'nt ask for a greater platform to start with!I knew I wanted to own this car before I ever saw one in person...it's everything my 1984 VW GTI I had many years ago wanted to be! I'm still kinda stuck on colors...BRG with white roof is classic...pure silver with black roof looks very sporty to me...kinda like the electric blue with either color roof...I think by the time i pick a color the RS will be availible...lol....Anyway,I look forward to talking to all you Mini people and even though I dont know any of you guys yet at least I know you all have good taste!

Hey SCCA,

Welcome to MCO! At least you have the patience to wait for your Mini, I could not. Had to have the car that day! although I love my INDI Blue, my all time favorite color is Pepper White. I'm going to wait for three years and by that time, I'd expect a Pepper White rag top to be in my future. I agree on the RS info., does not seem to be anything for certain "out there" yet.

Jim

Nice username. Its almost perfect . There really isn't an "RS." I think you're referring to the John Cooper Works kit for the S that was only just launched in the UK and will be available in the US next month. My car comes in next month and I'm getting it installed. Apparently you can also get it retrofitted if you already have your car. BMW is backing it with a full warranty.

You can find all the info available at the JCW website.JCW website

no RS, just the cooper works mods coming this year.....if you get the mods from the dealer, you certainly will be getting the works as in bend over, laugh....seems little excessive in price for a performance gain of 3 tenths of a second 0 to 60 IMO.....now if you are talking the new 300 hp Subaru, that $3K mod seems justified over the 227 Hp standard, but never underestimate seat of the pants feel I guess....hopefully down the line BMW will get rid of the Chrysler engine and get an engine deserving of the mini name and handling.....
