To all!

I have to apologize to all of you for the lack of time I have been able to spend here on the site answering all of your great questions, as well as to all of the folks who have called or e-mailed in the last week or so.

I feel I owe my MINI family a short explanation.

My oldest son, Zack, has had to be hospitalized as of last Friday. He is doing better, and it looks like he may be released Wednesday or so of next week.

In addition to the time we've been spending at the hospital, I am also working on contract as a test pilot for Adam Aircraft , developing the A500 and A700. We've been up against a 50 hour flight requirement for certification, so I've been flying from 6:30 in the morning until 2:00 or so, then heading straight to the hospital - so by the time I get home, I've been really drained lately.

I fully intend to jump back on top of things soon - hopefully my 7 year old will be out soon, and this 50 hour requirement will be satisfied on Wednesday.

I currently have at the shop for installation, evaluation, and how-to write ups: the jlm camber plates with stress bar, the LEDA coil overs, the ported and polished head, the MINI-Mania header with cat, and the Hotchkis front and rear tubular swaybars. I'm also still working on developing the Perfect Power and Unichip software technology.

I really just want all of you to know that you are on my mind, and I've felt like a slacker lately not taking care of all of you. I really enjoy talking and helping all of you with decisions and installations.

Randy

Don't be silly, Randy.
Take care of your family. You have given us so much that you could coast a loooong time here. The good will you have engendered here will last.

Hope all is well.

Eric

As so many have already said, there is no need to apologize for being a concerned, loving parent and a responsible professional. You obviously have your priorities in the appropriate order!

It almost make me mushy knowing that you value this community so much to not only think about us during your own trying times, but that you actually took the time to apologize for not being there for us! WOW - what an amazing show of character!

Don't stress yourself out too much about us. It won't be good for anyone if you put too much pressure on yourself to be everything to everybody. Save your energy for giving strength to your family! We'll be OK here and we'll wait for you to be able to return!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

Randy, hope your son is doing better soon. We're just a bunch of crazy car nuts and are about as important as navel lint when compared to family. Take care of that son!

On another note, that A700 looks AMAZING! I'm 15 mins from the Toronto airport if you need somewhere to fly to in order to build those hours. That's one plane I'd love to get a ride in. Hope it's as fun to fly as it is to just look at. Damn, if I only had $1.9M burning a hole in my pocket.

Hi Randy,
-its sort of funny - you don't know me and I know you and feel you are my close friend. Thanks for all your care and advice. Hope all is and will be O.K. with your son and whole family. Crossing my fingers for you.

Sorry for my not native English.

Randy,

There is nothing more important than your son, but you already know that. Just don't burn yourself out trying to do too much. We'll wait.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery,
JS

Randy -

I'd just like to reiterate what has been said over and over.

I hope your son is well soon and hope you have him home with you soon.

It certainly seems like you've got your priorities in order.

Know that you've got a whole community of friends here that have you and your son in their prayers. We look forward to a positive update on your son, first and foremost. That silly car stuff can wait.

Are you OK with $$$$??? PLEEZZ let us know!!!!   Scott

Randy,
... it kinda embarrasses me to think that this bunch of needy whiners has made you think you need to apologize - for anything ... Thank You for feeling you can share your life with us and we look forward to having you back here on a regular basis - but in the mean time just forget about this stuff and concentrate on those things that you know to be more important ...

Cheers! and good health ...

Randy - our thoughts are with you and the family. It was very cool of you to even think about us right now. Once things settle down, can we all go for a ride in that cool plane?

You can fly that baby to us and settle in right here with no problem!

As many have already said, best wishes to you, your family and especially your son, may he make a speedy recovery.

I think you have been invaluable to the MCO community and I have read many of your posts and HOW-TO's and I find them invaluable for the work I plan to do (once money is saved up) and would like to do but it's really infeasable. I just want you to know that all the work you have put into making your HOW-TO's and posts and the effort spent in the shop is greatly apreciated. However I think you are doing the right thing in taking care of your family first!
