Drivetrain who knows about Schrick cams?
who knows about Schrick cams?
I was under the impression that the "street" version the 252/260 cam was the street cam and discontinued (I think it is the performance cam for the non S) and the the 274/??? is the race cam...... whao has experience with both and can straighten this out... Ryan pm'd me but I have not heard back from him and install day is coming so I need to know...... there is 4-5 hrs labor and $450 for the cam involved so I would like some clarification please

Sorry...don't have much to add other than razzn ya
264/272 is the race cam. Part number 0424 01 641 03. I have the original .pdf file from schrick if you need more info like lift and other stuff I can send it.
I have the race cam I never heard of the street version. Even Schrick offers 260/260 for cooper.

I agree with the specs Minirowski states. The only cam for the Cooper S in Schrick's catalog is #0424-01-641-03. Valve lift is 9.5mm for intake and 9.0mm for exhaust, duration is 264 intake and 272 exhaust with 114 peak timing, and valve lift at TDC [overlap] is 0.5mm intake and 0.65 exhaust. Schrick told me that this Cooper S cam was called the "street" cam and they had discontinued the "race" cam in '03. Whatever the name, the above specs are the only cam from Schrick for the past 3 years for the MCS.

So Brian and Ryan,
What is the deal is the old one (discontinued) the "race" and more aggressive or is the new one the "race" and more aggressive? Are there comparative performance dynos somewhere in the archives..... no one responded to my inquiry about torque numbers for the 264/272 vs the 252/260 and the $64K quesion is what are each of you running?

I've never seen or installed a 252/260 MCS Schrick cam. That is the discontinued one. I'd hope the Webb guys would be able to tell you which cam is in the head you bought from them before you go do this cam swap thing, just in case you actually do have the current 264/272 profile.

At the time I bought the head Randy was putting in mostly the "street" 252/260 cams...... WTF I am going to try it and then it is done...... I am going to wait for the break in before dyno so my car at the Dragon will still be breaking in a new cam.....
OT my GF is driving up with me in her , new to her, 99 Miata..... so we can have some fun it that.
