Drivetrain --- Local LA Mini Tune Shop ? ---
--- Local LA Mini Tune Shop ? ---
I am prod to be a new member of NAM. From reading into all the posts here have helped me alot in terms of what I am thinking about getting done for my Cooper S. My main question is that does anyone know a shop around LA area thats a mini base tune shop. I am looking into getting Magnaflow Cooper S Exhaust and possibly Alta CAI and perhaps a 15 % pully.
If anyone can guide me towards the right area - it would mean alot. I have found many online shops that has the items for cheaper than the quote that I've got from some shops thats more towards Santa Ana. Just trying to figure out what my options are.
Thank you all in advance !

I had my Alta CAI and 15% pulley installed at http://www.westcoastmini.com/
You can also wait for Randy Webb to make his way back to Los Angeles. I think he might be coming in April or soon thereafter.

If it were my 2nd MINI, I would wait for Randy Webb.
But if you cannot wait, and like to support the local businesses, Steves Auto Clinic, and the above mentioned West Coast Mini are local. There is also Central Coast Coopers in Ventura.

Since you say you're new here, it must be overwhelming trying to sift through so many threads and forums.
One you might keep tabs on is the SoCal Forums.

I am around SF Valley. Any suggestions on for a beginner's mod ? I have read into alot of the forums and notice that 15% reduction pulley and CAI and exahast is a good start. I am still alittle worry about voiding my warranty but I am 100% sure I dont want to spend $ 7500 for JCW and that is why I am leaning more towards exhaust and CAI. Any ideas or suggestions if the 15% pulley is safe and reliable? I thank you all for the quick reply. I will soon get pics of my mini. Here is my spec on my Pepper White Mini S with sports, and Preium package. 17" team dynamics pro 1.2 flat black and yes... the runcraps are still on since i dont want to think getting stuck and have to rely on a tow truck along with my cell phone..
Inputs and suggestions would be extremely helpful - Thank you all in advance !

Yor are definatly in our " hood ", Northridge here. The 15 % has proven to be the biggest bang for the buck and VERY reliable. That and exhaust if you liek a better sound are a good place to start. As for run flats I got rid of mine in the first week and have relied on my cell phone for 54,000 miles so far with no problems. I will be at the village Coffe roaster sunday morning off Mulhulland drive if you want to come out and see some of the good roads.

You can do a 15% SC pulley, one-ball exhaust, CAI, and ECU remap for under $1500. For another $1500 - $1700 you can get lighter wheels, sticky tires, rear sway bar (w/ camber arms) and springs. Three grand gets you one awesome MINI
In addition to Steve's and Johhny's check out EF1 (Fabrizio) in Signal Hill and and Cental Coast Coopers (Scott) in Ventura.
If your budget is less than $3,000 I would recommend the pulley, CAI and sway bar for under $1,000 installed.

I will be calling Steve's Auto Clinic soon. Here is what I am thinking about getting done - Alta 15 % pully , Alta CAI , and perhaps Borla or Mangnaflow exhaust. Any input or suggetions ? I really enjoy the sound from Magnaflow but also at the same time Borla is not over the top and just abit cheaper on the pocket. As for my budget - $ 1500 is around what I can do as for now.
- I look foward to hear more from you all, Thank you all again for your time and input. -

Quick update from coming back from Steve's Auto clinic two weekends ago. I cant be any happier with the three mods I went about with - Alta 15% pully, CAI, and Milltek exhaust. I feels and sounds like a different car. I would highly recommend anyone around the LA area to go by Steve's.
I will be updating my pics soon.
