Helix 15% pulley owner satisfaction

Thinking of signing up for a 15% Helix pulley install on my 2006 MCS (not quite 1000 miles yet) while at the Dragon. Everybody happy with their Helix?

Eric installed my 15% last year at the dragon and I have loved it! Nothing like cruising through the dragon stock before, and then immediately after the install with more boost. Great product and a great guy. You will not regret it.

Helix uses the RDR pulley with the 6 bolt pattern. I can't claim that RDR is better than any other brand out there but its also safe to say that there is not a better one out there either.

While Helix did not install mine, I have -

only heard good things and praise about them on NAM.
had the RDR pulley now for a year and no problems or issues of any kind.

Eric at Helix is a great guy and I would suggest to get it done and by him! Eric's pulleys are his own and are made by one of his suppliers. You will not be sorry!

Eric installed my 15% last year at the the Dragon and he is the best Mini mechanic that I personally know, no doubt about it. Still my favorite mod yet; definitely the best bang for the $$$ spent. Now my car has 20k more hard driven miles & many more mods and its still running better and better every day.
My only warning on any 15% pulley is that it will lead to more and more car mods and that has the potential to become a huge money pit.

Hey that is the best part about it! Modding is what makes it fun and yet even better to drive!

You'll die at the age of 88 before you finish all your mods....

Just had a 19% done by Eric.... Garrett was there! Awesome dude, I have a video of him taking off my pulley and pics of me with the stock one v. the 19

The car became that much more fun and I lost that much more money

Eric is a great guy and I would also suggest to get it done and by him!

Eric/Helix= :)

Eric installed a 15% pulley on my 02 MCS
and
a 19% pulley on my 06 MCS

The pulley is....and will continue to be the silver bullet for these cars.
It is...hands down best bang for your buck for these cars.

Check my sig....to see what else Eric did to my MCS's .

I assure you..... you will be delighted w/ your choice

Peace,
D

I'm taking the plunge and getting a Helix 15% pulley installed on my 06 MCS this year at the Dragon. Has anyone had Way Motor Works install there pulley or know anyone that did? I'm going to have them do the CAI but not sure which one yet.

Way worked side by side with Eric last year at the dragon. Both good guys and great work. Way use to be a MINI tech for a dealer so he knows his stuff. I have had the opportunity to shot the breeze with him on a couple occasions and he helped me troubleshoot a vacumn problem I was having for no charge. Can't go wrong with either of them.

I love my Helix that Waylen put on a few weeks ago. Great guy. Warning since then it has caused me to spend another $1000 or so on other modifications and lowered my MPG due to a heavy foot.

Very happy with mine as well.

3 or 4 track days and a couple autocrosses without any problem.

Eric installed a 15% on my '02 and it went 'zoom' . He recently installed a 17% on my '06 and it goes 'zoom-zoom'. The supecharger whine is more pronounced too.....absolutely lovely. I'd also highly recommend GIAC chip tuning to go with it.....smoooooth! You can't go wrong with Helix.

I have a 19% pulley in my garage and just cant get it installed! I am afraid to! A 15% would be just fine for you. IMO, I would wait untill after the break in because after you get in installed, you want to redline and WOT!!!

*Decides weather to install the 19% reduction pulley...*

Eric did my 15% along with a CAI and ECU remap about a month ago. Worth every penny... I can't wait to add the Milltek.

There is a great deal of debate about 15% vs 17% or 19%. I wanted to be certain that I maintained reliability as I go to far-off places in the Mini. I also decided that rather than pay for the injectors and belt that my money was better spent on the ECU remap. We each have to decide where to draw the line for ourselves. I'm jealous of the 19%'ers, but I think I made the right decision for me.

You can't go wrong with Eric...
