So no cats are bad, burning trees in your yard is bad, being a 02 sim vendor that people do want is bad, driving a mini that is not lev II like a honda is bad, and I hope no one posting that this product is bad drives and SUV or anything from the 80s, but I like to spend my days burning plastic bags-just for the smell though.
If you dont like this product because pollutints are bad sell your car buy a bike and quit this forum. If the vendor sucks that valid those without cats dont care if its bad otherwise they wouldnt do it.

Ok, I bought one. Here is my reason & expirence with this vendor....

I bought it for one reason & one reason only. I am twincharging in the next few weeks (as time allows) & the kit I am using doesnt have a cat. I WILL BE installing a cat as soon as I have the kit done & dyno'd. At that point I will install a cat & RE-DYNO. This will give a great baseline as to the affects of a cat in a twincharged setup, of which I will share with everyone.

Now as for the Vendor. I purchased the kit via the web late at nite & with in an hour or so had the confirmation email with the shipping info. I received the o2sim in the mail the very next day. The return address was showing from the same city as I live, so that explains the quick ship time. Everything in the package is complete including generic instructions with the link to the MINI specific install. I will let it be known if any issues are present when I do the install from my downpipe.

Peace Y'all.....

nayyyy, nayyy, or is it hee haw, hee haw. give it a break, this is a product that CAN be useful. if you don't need it, don't buy it!!! i hear enough bickering at work or from my wife,HA. leave this vendor alone, don't forget who pays for nam, VENDORS. we all know what is legal and what is not, if you break the law, be willing to pay the price. pretty simple.

cheers

Hello all,
I hope I can clearify thing or two.
First the purpose : o2sim simulates the signal from the o2sensor with working stock catalityc converter which allows user to either remove it or substitute it with after market one which does not adhear to the manufacture specifications. This is not the type of modifications where vendor would do before/after dyno comparasion. By itself the modification does not provide any benefit. Compare it to highflow fuel pump on the stock car or higher capacity battery. But with the modifications like headers and aftermarket exhaust can provided 'significant' results. The actual performance gain can be only measured on practice.
The fact of CEL does not affect MINI performance, so anyone can run without a cat, they do not need o2sim for that. But some other cars go into 'emergency' mode without a cat and the performance is greatly degraded.

Why we did not explain the purpose of o2sim in the first post: very simple why. If you do not know what is o2simulator you do not need it. We do not push into to you something you do not need.

Installation and related activities: the o2sim is not a plug and play mod. The installation requires expirience in electical and mechanical areas. The o2sim we sell is geared toward car enthusiast who can do work themself. Once the car-shop in involved the idea of the cheap mod is just disappeared.
Our suggestion is if you can't do the work yourself find the shop who sells , installs and guarantees the o2sim functionallity so you have clear understanding of the final price.

o2sim warranty: First of all we guarantee product to work or your money back. What it means is that in case you are not satisfied with the product (it does not work, it took long too ship or you just do not like the support ) we will refund 100% of the cost, no questions ask. Otherwise the product has unlimited warranty.

does it work? : Obviosly we would not sell something that does not work offering 100% refund. But there are situation where we can't make the product work for your the car. The remote diagnostic where we are relying on end-user is not always successful and we feel the 100% refund and appology is the only thing we can do. With current price of the product we think it is very reasonable.

Let me know if can answer any other questions.
Being car enthuasist myself and owning mitsubishi twin turbo 3000GT VR4 it is always pleasure to talk about cars and performance and especially in so friendly community as NorthAmericanMotoring

Good reply.

I understand what it is and why it is used. I'm sure it is a good product, but I would hope, at the same time, that just because this prevents the engine throwing codes that you would not encourage anyone to not run a cat.

There are options out there to exchange the stock cat with and I would hope that anyone considering cat modification or removal would consider each option depending on the use of their vehicle.

Thank you and safe and responsible motoring to all. Word.

hopefully the arguing has ceased. here is the biggest reason the cat needs to be removed. if you are running race fuel, leaded fuel is still the best. if you run leaded race fuel with a cat it will kill your cat fairly fast. so if you change for track conditions this is one less concern to deal with. remove the cat at the track and when done put it back and go home. no messing with o2 sensors and cel's. this makes this a very good product for those who are doing this with their cars. i for one say thumbs up to the o2 sim that is made for the mini, and please don't force this vendor away from nam.

cheers

installed 02 simulator last month in my Miltek Header with gutted Cat- No SES light. (Miltek shipped me replacement header when the Cat went bad & I took the old one & gutted the CAT for the track). Have had this header on car for a month or so with 02 simulator and no SES light- works great- I suck at soldering but it wasn't difficult to install- i took the 02 sensor out to install the simulator.
